Pregnant, What to Wear Under Dresses Besides Maternity Pantyhose

I am overweight so I have to wear culotte slips or very thin biker shorts under my dresses and skirts so my thighs don't rub together. Even if I miss for an hour I will have blisters. So now that I am pregnant I am very worried I won't be able to find something comfortable and breathable to wear under dresses and skirts. I don't want to buy lot's of maternity pantyhose for one they are expensive and two hard to get on I can imagine after a while.
Any suggestions? I have looked and looked and can't find anything besides regular shorts which sometimes don't come down far enough on the thigh.
thanks

What can I do next?

I agree with the others who suggested maternity leggings. Old Navy has maternity and maternity plus sizes. I am on my 3rde pregnancy and have used Old Navy maternity clothes for all the pregnancies. I love their leggings. Very comfy!!

Congratulations, btw!!

I was thinking maternity leggings would work as well. Especially with the cooler weather coming.

I bought some leggings at the maternity store that is in the malls- I am blanking on the name. They are thick but they are also in style right now.

Make use of comfy capri length leggings. You can get some really good deals right now as all summer stuff if on sale. I too do not wear skirts or dresses unless I wear shorts under them. Try going to www.bcoutlet.com they are the outlet for all plus size catalogs. Lane Bryant, Roaman's, Avenue, Fashion Bug, Jessica London. It is definately hit and miss on finding just want you want in your size. But sure worth the bargins you can find.

A trick from runners - use solid deoderant on your inner thighs - it doesnt wear down like lotion and really makes them slide smoothly without blisters. I use suave invisible solid on my underarms, inner thighs, under breasts etc every day...

Have you tried the lotions that are made to help prevent friction and chafing? I think Lanacaine makes one over the counter.

Also would like to add I just did a quick google search and found this:

They make maternity Lycra "shorts." Also try powder or corn starch between the thighs, helps with friction.

Woman Within has low cost, plus size maternity clothes: http://www.womanwithin.com/Department.aspx?DeptId=9300

Also, you can use cornstarch powder between your legs to help with the chafing. J&J makes some, and Wal-mart & Target have their own house brands. I use it every morning during the summer months. Keeps my inner-thighs totally dry. You can also use straight corn starch, like you cook with too. Works fine, just not in the shaker container.

Avenue stores have a great line of underthings that are really light weight, black or beige, and very comfy. I am a plus-sized lady and I wore their tops and underthings my whole pregnancy. I love their undershorts and they don't roll up or down. They stay where theye should. You can order online or they have a store in Olathe. Good luck!

I wore a pair of regular pantyhose every day of my pregnancies for professional reasons. I simply purchased a size bigger than I normally would to accommodate my growing belly, and it worked beautifully.

I'm not much of a fan of skirts anyhow.....I think I only had 1 skirt that I wore during both pregnancies in preference of yoga pants, elastic waist band pants and a few pairs of maternity pants (that I hated).

Even if you're a little overweight, you should be able to find plenty of things that will help you feel comfortable and not be expensive.

Good luck!
