My 13 month old daughter has a problem with her pictular..... She keeps getting bumps on her particular. We tried every diaper cram and cornstarch and baby powder letting her go without a diaper baking soda bath nothing helped. This went on for weeks she had 3 differend perscription creams also that didnt help either. So her doc put her on oral antibiotic cuase he said it was Strep B. Well that worked and it went away. So not she has an ear infection and is on an antibiotic for that and the bumps are back. I am taking her to the doc again this afternnon but I want to see if anyone has any other ideas. By the way it is not a rash just red and bumps with a little white in some of them and they are on the outside skin of her particular but they are in between the layers of her skin. That is why no creams were working. PLEASE HELP ME THIS IS BREAKING MY HEART!!! Thanks! God Bless!

It is not a yeast infection. She eats Yogurt everyday and the antiboitics made it go away last time and the doc said it was not yeast at all and she has been running a low grade fever on and off. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Have you tried using chlorine free diapers, such as earth's best or seventh generation? My son was getting rashes until I changed his diapers to chemical free ones.

I would think it's yeast from the antibiotics...yeast rashes are generally little raised bumps that may look like pimples/whiteheads.

you can use any antifungal cream or coconut oil to stop it...and I would try adding some probiotics to her diet--just break the capsules open and either put in her mouth or on some apple sauce.

I would look into the yeast infection, and also start some probiotics while she is taking the antibiotics.

The first rash apparently was Strep B or at least an infection of some type. The second rash may very well be a yeast infection. Antibiotics often cause yeast infections. She is working on her second round of antibiotics in a row. Try MONISTAT 7 or similar Vaginal Antifungal Cream on your babies bottom.

absolutely take her to the doctor! You made the right choice.

& as a heads up, please avoid all types of powder....even if it's cornstarch. Powders can cause UTIs (urinary tract infections) in babies, particularly girls!

Diaper rashes are a part of life. By being vigilant with diaper changes, sometimes even changing the brand of diapers/wipes.....will help. & quite frequently, some children require a preventive such as Desitin with every single diaper change! My oldest required ointment with every change, but my youngest rarely needed anything. Good Luck!

Could it be that the rounds of anti-biotics have cause a yeast infection? It could look like the other rash, but I know when my daughter had a yeast rash on her bottom it was little bed bumps and niastatin helped. I think it's good to take her in to see, just in case.
