Put Vicks on the bottom of her feet too!! No idea why, but this works wonders. What the other Mom's said too, no honey. She is too young.

I know that it is so hard to stand by and watch our babies being sick and I know you are just trying to find anything to help BUT.....I have heard that you are NOT supposed to give a baby honey EVER at least past 12 months...something about the bacteria. Vaporizers were always what I used...

Warning! Honey is not for babies!!! Infants up to one year of age should not be fed raw honey, as their immune systems are not yet developed enough to fend off this normally benign strain. Infection can cause a flaccid paralysis weakening the baby's muscles, causing a "floppy" baby. Other symptoms include constipation, lethargy, poor feeding, weak cry, droopy eyelids, expressionless face, drooling or swallowing difficulty, and occasionally, respiratory arrest. By the age of one year, most children develop enough to resist this normally benign strain of botulinum.
Keep moisture in the baby's room by running a cool-mist humidifier. The extra moisture keeps the baby's throat from getting dry and relieves the nasal congestion that often causes the coughing. Give your child extra fluids to thin the mucus, making it easier for the baby to cough it up, according to the National Institutes of Health. If you are breastfeeding, continue with the practice because breast milk provides extra vitamins that keep babies well. Suction out the excess mucus in the baby's nasal passages with a suction bulb designed for this purpose. Apply lil vicks. In addition to helping the baby breathe better, eliminating the mucus reduces the amount of post-nasal drip in the baby's throat that causes coughing. Hope this is helpful<3

My youngest is 2 1/2 and has to use a nebulizer since he gets really bad coughs, and some say it may be asthma, but he is still too young for them to diagnose. Depending on the cough, I would take her to the doctor just to makes sure you don't need antibiotics or a nebulizer. Better safe than sorry since babies can develop bronchiolitis very easy, as I have come to find out between my two boys.

Sometimes Vicks can cause breathing issues for babies. Read the label. If its persistent, I would take her to the dr.... could be asthma or croup. My kids have asthma and their cough often sounds like croup... winters are the worst. Either way, they might need meds. Yes, the hot steam in the bathroom is always good and the humidifer (remember to clean out the humidifier often to prevent mold, this will also make your baby sick). Hope they feel better soon!
