My 22 month old son has suddenly developed a rash under his eye and on top of the eyelid. It looks like small, red raised pimples, sometimes with little whiteheads. It was here for a few days, then went away, and now it's been back for four days. It is now on both eyes, with the left eye much more prominent. It doesn't seem to bother him at all, hardly itches or rubs it. Went to the doctor who didn't know what it was, didn't perscribe anything and said just to keep an eye on it. Has anyone else had this happen? Not necessarily worried, just wish it would go away! He does have asthma and allergies, but it is not eczema.
My 9 year old has it on her cheeks. She also has food/environmental allergies. I think it is something that comes with allergies. I use aquaphor on it and it makes it much better. Good luck : )

I'm not sure I would settle for that answer. You may want to take your son to a dermatologist (or ask your doctor for a referral if you need one). Since it isn't his speciality and he doesn't know what it is, I would go to a doctor who could tell you.

Sounds like it may be impetigo. I would have it checked because it can spread fast and if left untreated can scar.
A simple cream solves the problem quickly but be sure to wash your hands and change the sheets often. When my son had it (face also) I found it easier to put a towel over the sheet.

It could possibly be milia, which is harmless. Little white raised dots are dead skin cells and oils get trapped under the skin. In adults they can be extracted, but I would not attempt on a child.
