Question for Chanukah-celebrating Moms

My son's preschool is having a Chanukah party this week, and I volunteered to bring a dozen jelly doughnuts. They must be kosher. Our kosher bakery sells them for a prohibitively expensive price, so I was hoping to find packaged doughnuts that meet the bill. Doughnut holes would be fine, too. Anyone know of a packaged brand of jelly doughnuts that are kosher? Thanks!

What can I do next?

If you are in Encino, try Bea's Bakery or Gelson's (which is right across the street from Bea's).

If they don't have the kosher variety, i am sure they can direct you to someone that does.
Happy Chanukkah - my grandparents used to live in Encino - I can picture it right now!

You can do a google search and find a kosher jelly donut recipe if you are up to making them.

Otherwise, don't buy a dozen, by 6 and cut them in 1/2.

I don't know if they make jelly doughnuts, but I believe that Entemann's products are Kosher.

Yikes!!! Do NOT make them at home... It's not just the ingredients that need to be kosher for the food to be kosher... but also the workspace. Knives, boards, bowls, counters, storage... it's a huge undertaking if you don't already have a kosher kitchen.

If it's a Jewish School... have you tried asking the school where a good place is? "The bakery I would usually go to is holding them hostage for a million dollars a donut, any good place you know of for less?"

We've got kosher everything up here... but no Hostesshevitz kind of doughnuts!

Although... some KrispyKreme donuts are kosher! All the ingredients are & the plant in NC... but not all the stores. here's from their site:

ARE KRISPY KREME DOUGHNUTS KOSHER?

All of our doughnuts are ingredient Kosher. Our mix plant in Winston-Salem, NC where the mix is made is certified Kosher. In addition, some of our stores, but not all, have been certified Kosher. To get a complete listing of our stores that have been Kosher certified, please call us at 1-800-4KRISPY.
