Does anyone know of some fun places to go on a rainy day besides Chuck E Cheese or the Library? I have a 2 and 4 year old and we are board to death with this weather. Thanks.

What can I do next?

Hi L.!
My friend and I just took our little ones to a place in Canton by Belden Village called "Safari Sams". They have an eating area, game area, and an indoor playground with miniature golf. It was really fun for the kids. There were all kinds of things for different ages.
We had fun!

Hi L.,

We have a mom's group in this area and we also find this dilemma too, when the weather here in Ohio is ugly (so often these days).

There is a place in North Canton (off Whipple) called the Fun Fortress. It is nice - all sorts of inflatables to climb on. My daughter will be 3 in July and she loves it there. Nothing is too high or too scary for her. You might want to check it out.

We also go to the Akron Zoo and hang out inside the Kimodo Kingdom when it is cold or rainy outside. There are places to eat, lots of room for the kids to roam, tortoises and (I think) alligators inside, plus a climbing wall for them to enjoy. We have a family pass and it is a great thing to utilize all throughout the year. We definitely get our money's worth!

I heard there is a new Pump it Up in the Medina area. We haven't been to it yet there is also one in Hartville. Very similiar to the Fun Fortress, but we personally like the Fun Fortress better.

We also have another activity coming up this next Wednesday - April 18th - a private playgroup for our group at the North Canton YMCA Gymnastics Center. It is a favorite activity with both our kids and our moms!
If you'd like to join, the group's link is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NortheasternOhioActiveMomsG...

If you are interested, apply to join. I can then forward you the questionnaire.

Thanks!

S.

We've found Amazone in Medina (Rt. 18 and 71), Pump It Up in Stow (but not Medina) has days you can just drop in and play, Chapel Hill has the merry-go-round and they're going to open an inflatable play area (or so I've read). How about museums in Cleveland (Children's museum would be perfect for that age).

Chuck E. Cheese's is not fun anymore, either in Fairlawn on Market St., nor on the 'strip' in N. Canton because they do not control the kids who run wild and take advantage of the smaller kids.
Fun & Stuff is an amusement place that Kids adore. It's off RT. 8, north of Akron in Macedonia (in the book, call & they will give you directions-I am not a direction giver, I mess up everytime)A large facility indoors. In the summertime they have paddle boats etc.
They operate on tokens, which we collect and catalog.
We have wanted to open an Arcade locally because there is a great need for one (or more) in the greater Akron area for sure.

Hi L.,

Another option to add besides the posts below is a place near Belden Village called Safari Sam's. It's similar in style to Chuck E Cheese but our family enjoys it even more. It has a very large play area for the kids to climb around. And a smaller play area for little toddlers. There is miniature golf, games, and even a nice eating area. (The food is not too bad either) There is no cost to use the play area or miniature golf. The games are similar to Chuck E Cheese where you pay per game & obtain tickets for prizes. The food is very reasonably priced. My daughter mostly likes to play in the play area. We actually have a play date planned for this Friday at Safari Sam's.

Have fun.
