My husband was recently restationed at Ft Bliss with a troop that will deply in late November/ early December. While this is not our first deployment, last time I was back home, and had my family and friends for support. I am looking for other mothers to connect with while we are here, since I know virtually no one here.

What can I do next?

Hi A.,
My name is L. and my family and I are also stationed at Ft. Bliss. My husband has been in the Army for 18 years and we have been here in El Paso for a little over 2 years now. Before that we were at Ft. Campbell, which is also my hometown. While we were there my hubby spent a year in Iraq. It was hard, but being around friends and family helped so much. We've been fortunate that he hasn't had to redeploy since we've been here. I can't imagine how hard that would be. I'm a stay at home mom of 4 great kids and 2 great stepsons. My 4 kids are 8,6,4 and 15 months and my stepsons are 9 and 20. I just celebrated my 30th birthday and my husband will soon be 37. I'm pretty outgoing and am always looking for the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. For me my military friends are my surrogate family, we are always ready to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on when life gets hard. So, if you want to get together and chat over a cup of coffee or something please feel free. I'm home virtually all the time although I do babysit for a friend a few days a week. You can contact me through my email at ____@____.com Hope to hear from you soon.
~L.

HI A., MY HUSBAND IS IN THE ARMY TOO AND WE ARE HERE AT FT BLISS. I HAVE A 9 YR OLD SON AND A 6 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER. WE HAVE BEEN HERE A YEAR AND I AM LOOKING TO MEET NEW PEOPLE. MY HUSBAND IS NOT DEPLOYING BUT THE MORE FRIENDS AND SUPPORT YOU HAVE WHILE HE IS GONE WILL MAKE EVERYTHING SO MUCH BETTER. WE WERE IN GERMANY WHEN HE LEFT TO IRAQ AND I WAS FAR FROM HOME ( NOT TO MENTION NO ONE EVER CAME TO VISIT). IF IT WASN'T FOR THE FRIENDS THAT I MADE TIME WOULD HAVE GONE BY MUCH SLOWER. WELL I LOOK FORWARD TO HEAR FROM YOU.
