I do a fairly traditional (and lazy) Thanksgiving...

Turkey in an oven bag= slice onions onto bottom of bag, mix whatever seasonings I like into a tablespoon or two of butter and stick that in a slit just under the skin on he top. Then I rub the same seasonings over the entire turkey, then sprinkle with paprika. I follow baking directions according to the instructions on the oven bag.

I use the drippings to make turkey gravy by pouring them into a pan, then stirring in a mixture of 2-3 tbsp flour per cup of water until thickened, then salt and pepper to taste.

Stove Top stuffing, because it don't like homemade stuffing much. Lol.

Candied yams= couple cans of yams in a baking dish ( drain well!) sprinkle with brown sugar, top with mini marshmallows (I prefer white, but my SIL loves colored ones... They are sweeter and add a bit of a candy-fruit flavor...). Bake at 350 until the marshmallows are brown on top.

Hit up Pinterest for an interesting veggie side.

Homemade pumpkin pie, following Pinterest recipe that seems the most intriguing at the moment. (Found one this year for a pumpkin pie cheesecake that sounds interesting...)

Premade Dutch apple pie.

Go to the Martha Stewart website.
MANY good easy holiday recipes for side dishes and main dishes.
I got my recipes from there.
It always was a hit and even with my kids.
You just choose something that you think you can make, and is easy and won't cost a ton in ingredients. That's what I do.

I like pumpkin pie.
I'm fine with buying it pre-made and adding a bit of Cool Whip on top of a slice.
We tried a Cheesecake Factory Pumpkin cheese cake a few years ago that was HEAVENLY!
I looked for it last year but couldn't find it.
If I've got a turkey cooking and sides on the stove top, in the oven and microwaves I don't feel a burning need to make a dessert from scratch.

If you have the time/fridge space and you want to make something, you can't go wrong with jello.

I've always used the recipe on the back of a Libby's pure pumpkin can. The ONLY difference is that I double the spices, except the ginger.

This sweet potato dish is really yummy! I usually make it the day before and store in the fridge, then it's all ready to go for Thanksgiving.

The one thing everyone makes me prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas (and a few birthdays) is Buttermilk Pecan Pie. I am not a pecan pie person, but EVERYONE loves this, and it smells incredibly divine baking!!! I have never had a person NOT like this!!! You should try it... people are so amazed that it's made buttermilk, but it's really quite tasty...
