Huggies overnights are great. They might be big on him now, but they work awesome! I use them only at night on my daughter. Good Luck!
Does anyone have a recommendation for diapers that work good for heavy wetters? My son is 3 mo old and is leaking almost everyday. I've tried Pampers in 2's and 3's. Huggies Swadlers 2's and now Luv's 3's. Any other suggestions??
I used cotton's with my other kids and I'm afraid to put him in them because he wets so much...
WOW! Thank you very much for all the responses. There are some EXCELLENT suggestions!
I will try the Huggies Supremes and the Walmart brand.
I do have some rubber pants (I'm currently using on my 2yr old to potty train) so I'll try those as well.
This was my first time on the web site, I'm so impressed at the intelligent, friendly women on this site!
THANK YOU!

C.,
I have the same problem with my 7 1/2 month old! I have tried everything from putting him in bigger diapers to putting a pull up over his diaper at bedtime. What I found that works pretty good is putting rubber pants on over his size 6 diaper. you know, like the ones you put on over a cloth diaper or when toilet training. It has been working okay, but sometimes when I take it off it is pretty wet on the inside. At least his jammies and sheets and blankets don't get soaked! Hope this helps!
PRetty much same response as the rest. My son is a big bedtime pee boy and I love Huggies overnights.
Have you tried any of the "overnights." I am not for sure which company makes them, but I know they are out there.
My daughter, now 1 went through the same thing. I tried everything and someone told me to try Whitecloud (size 5), which is the Walmart brand believe it or not, they worked. I havent had any problems, and it has been 3 months. Hope this helps. J..
When my son was a baby I had the same problem, I just stuck with Luvs, changed him more often, and I had to put him in 2 diapers at night. I cut a slit in the first one, then put another one on top of it.
have you tried huggies overnights? i'm a pampers fan usually, but i used these w/ my youngest (now 14 mon.) and they worked great!
When my little boy was 18 months, I had the same problem. I found these "diaper liners" (they actually resembled large maxi pads) at my local Rite Aid store in the diaper section. These basically went into the diaper and provided extra absorption. I used them at night until my son was potty trained at 2 1/2. Good luck!
If you're still having a problem, I have a suggestion completely different from the others. Look online at Babies R Us, you can buy absorbent inserts for diapers that add TONS of extra absorbency. My son is 2 and a half, and from the time he was about 5 or 6 months, he has wet his diaper so much at night that he wets his jammies and his sheets almost daily. I've used these and they really help.
Diaper Doublers are inserts that you put into diapers to increase their absorbency. Try Googling it or check Ebay (that's where I last saw them). Good luck!
As crazy as it sounds, I've found the best diapers are Parent's Choice ( Wal-Mart brand)!! They are cheaper too!!! Also, when you put the diaper on, make sure his "wee-wee" is pointed down!! Good Luck ;)
We had that problem at night with our son. We used Huggies Overnights, I found them at Walmart and some newer super Target stores.
I found that Huggies Natural fit supreme work well or you can try the huggies goodnights if they come in the right size for your son.
Make sure all "boy parts" are pointed down and he is in the right size for his weight/length. Too big a diaper will cause leaks too. I loved Huggies Supreme too and I see they now have the cut outs for newborns again. I see their weight/size chart is as follows:
Step size Weight Range
3 16 - 28 lbs
4 22 - 37 lbs
5 Over 27 lbs
6 Over 35 lbs
The other thing is you may just have to check him more often and change him more often if he is peeing through.
Good luck!

Huggies overnights....buy them one size up from the actual size your baby is in. This worked like a charm for us. Not everyplace carries these diapers though, we have to get ours at Rite Aid.
Someone I know has had success with "overnight" diapers that she found at Babies 'R Us. Good luck!
I love pampers swaddler's, but if those don't work for you try double diapering him with maybe a cheaper brand for the 2nd diaper.. Walmat has a brand called "white cloud" that is pretty good and cheap! Good Luck!
My daughter was also a heavy wetter & still is (she is 22mo). I found that the only thing I could do is just change her ALL the time. I have been using Huggies Goodnights diapers for night time or when we go to a store. They seem to lock in the wetness better. Using them when we go out makes me more confident that we will not have to change pants where ever we are. I am not sure if they come in small sizes though. Good luck!
My son is a heavy wetter and I love Huggies Supreme diapers or Huggies Overnight diapers.
Hi C.,
I had a problem with my son also but only at night, I used Huggies Supreme and I would double diaper him. Sounds crazy but it worked. Good Luck

I used the Diaper Doublers when I had this problem. The only place I could find them was Babies R Us....They aren't too expensive either. I only used them at night and changed him often throughout the day. Good luck.
As others have mentioned... Huggies Supreme. You can make them nice and snug and the elasticity still gives them plenty of stretch for your little one. When we change our son, the tabs on each side of the diaper just touch to meet in the center and there is still lots of stretch for him and he has no red/tight marks. Well worth the $ in my opinion. Good luck!
My son used to leak through the Pampers brand all the time. I have been using the Walmart brand (Parent's Choice) diapers since my twins were 3 months. Neither of them have leaked through the Parent's Choice diapers and they are cheaper to buy. I had to stop using cloth diapers when my twins were 3 months due to heavy wetting. Parent's Choice diapers work great for us.
Best of Luck,
M.
Have you thought of using cloth diapers? My daughter wears cloth during the day and at night we use Natural Choice Environmentally Sensitive Diapers which I have noticed in contrast to my sisters son's huggies hold much more. Give them a shot. They are chemical free and Biodegradable. How cool is that! You can find them at Meijers for cheaper them pampers!
I had the same problem with both of my boys and I found that the Babies R Us brand works great - and is typically cheaper!! Great news on both accounts! My sons are now 3 and 5 and I used them all through their diaper years :)
The tip on making a pocket in the diaper helps too!! Good idea!
Good luck!!
there are cloth diapers made especially for heavy wetters- Luke's Drawers Goodnight kisses for one is made just for night- and geared towards heavy wetters.
my son is 4 months and we can't use disposables- he pees through them in an hour or so and gets horrible rashes and he lasts all night in these dipes with no leaks..
My son was the same way always leaking. We used Hug Flex by Huggies and then at Night we used the Overnight diapers by huggies. Once in a while he leaked during the day but never at night :) Hope that helps! Also Cosco sells a brand that is just like the Hug Flex and a lot cheaper.
