I can say who to avoid. Dr. Lines injected the gums of my 10 year old then wiped the needle on the chest cover paper that the dentists office places on their patient then reinjected her. Plus wiped sum spit/saliva off her chin with a pice of rounded quaze that he subsequently placed between her teeth and cheek. Yuck! all this too quick for me to stop...

Dr. Stanley Hess's office has years of experience with 'little ones'--my 9year old has been seeing him since age 3 and wouldn't go anywhere else!

Dr. Tilson at Cherry Hills (Wyoming & Academy) works with a LOT of children (even tho his office doesn't look like it) & he did a cavity for my 3 yr old without anestetic. We were in & out in 15 minutes & my daughter who does not see a dentist (other than my hygientist MIL) was not scared at all. All the hygeintist there are good too, but I especially like Jenny Carter. My MIL's office recommends Dr. David Martinez also.

Dr. David Martinez is awsome. I am a dental care worker. Not for him, but in the business you know. I take my children to him. I am sure you will find him very caring and professional. He is located on Montgomery between Jefferson and Carlise.

About me: 35yr married working mother of 5 yr & 8yr boys.

I second Dr David Martinez, we really liked his manner. He was voted ABQ's best pediatric dentist in the Albuquerque Magazine's last issue. His office is really set up to entice little ones and to make them feel confortable.

I would highly recommend Dr. David Martinez. He is great with my kids, especially my 4 year old who isn't the most coperative. And the staff is great.

I'm shocked and concerned to read that so many Albuquerque parents are trusting Dr. David Martinez with their children. What am I talking about? Try this: Call Dr. Martinez to get your child in on an urgent basis. When I called to schedule a 2 year old with a swollen face and PAIN, his staff (I spoke to 2 people) said they could schedule a consultation for October (I called in March!) Obviously, I couldn't wait that long (ummmm, my child would have DIED if I had! The infection could easily have spread to his brain!) I explained this to the front staff and asked who else they recommend. They rudely told me to check the phone book and that I could take October or leave it. I just can't believe that anyone who chooses Pediatric Dentistry as a specialty could have so little compassion. Shame on you, Dr. Martinez!

A question to you other moms who recommend Dr. Martinez: Has your child had a toothache or other urgent concern? How soon did Dr. Martinez see them? I would love to hear that he isn't the monster I've made him out to be in my mind, but deep down I think he is.

hi, A.!

how are you doing? i have the greatest pediatric dentist for you! i took my 22 month old to see dr. david martinez (on montgomery between jefferson and carlisle) and just fell in love with the whole place! he was so kind and patient with my little guy who just didn't want to open his mouth! the staff was great and you could tell that they just loved children! during our visit (our first ever visit to the dentist), the hygienist showed him all of the tools and put some water in his mouth with the rinsing water thingy. they also did a fluoride treatment which i thought was wonderful!

when my little guy fell down and had some facial trauma including a broken tooth, both my adult dentist and our pediatrician independently recommended him as being the one to go to. i think that says a lot about him! his web site is
http://abqkidsdentist.com. if you have any questions about him, let me know!
