Try a deoderant called Certain Dry. It did wonders for me. Read the instructions on the label as it can be itchy or uncomfortable if you don't. I used it over a period of a month or so and no longer have to use it at all! Good luck!
I have a problem with sweating. Lots and lots of sweating. It wouldn't be bad if it just happened when I am working hard, but it happens ALL the time. I keep hankerchief's in my purse to wipe up the sweat and I may have to start walking around with towels it is getting so bad. For instance, I was in the funeral home, waiting in line and I was sweating so bad by the time I got up to give condolensces and hugs my hair was dripping wet, the back of my dress was soaked and I had sweat drops running down my neck. This doesn't just happen at stressful times...it happens EVERYWHERE! I looked like I had just gotten out of the shower when I left Walmart last night after getting school supplies.
Has anyone experience, or known someone that has experienced this, and been able to get it under control? I am considering taking myself out of society...I can't take much more.

I agree w/ Anne. Go see a doctor. It could be hormones. Fair warning, though, doctors are hesitant to diagnose hormones. You might need a 2nd opinion or more.
You need to see a doctor. Here is what i found on the internet. there are lots of them. I googled excessive sweating and it brought up a whole page. Good Luck M. in Boise, Id

What are the medical issues and details behind excessive sweating? Did you know that about 1% some say even 2% of the worlds population suffers from excessive sweating. With this site there is thorough, comprehensive, and up to date information in regards to excessive sweating. Excessive sweating or as its known in medical literature as hyperhidrosis is a clinical condition where parts of the body are sweating beyond what the body needs. Causes of Excessive Sweating: It is commonly an inherited condition and can affect those who suffer from it on a social, functional, and emotional level. The good news is, there are several different ways to combat excessive sweating with varying levels of effectiveness depending on the severity of the excessive sweating problem. Use the list of links on the left to cover all relevant topics ranging from hand sweating to armpit sweating. Have a look at the medical terms section in case you get lost with all the medical terminology.
The very basic explanation for excessive sweating is that a segment of the sympathetic nervous system is responsible for this presentation. What is the sympathetic chain you may ask? This is an autonomous part of the nervous system on which we have no control. The autonomous nervous system has two parts to it, the sympathetic and the parasympathetic. Those systems affect blood pressure, heart rate, anxiety level and many other functions.
Commonly affected areas of the body are the hands, and feet. In smaller groups of patients the facial and armpit areas are affected as well. Different methods were used to treat excessive sweating such as herbal medications, different oral medications, lotions, and injections of botox. All of the above had limited success and if successful only for a limited periods of time. The surgical method known as ETS is the only known permanent solution. Dr. Reisfeld based in Los Angeles at The Center for Hyperhidrosis offers a up to date site on the surgery procedure itself (ETS) and hyperhidrosis.
Throughout this site we go into great detail to describe the issues surrounding excessive sweating, its history, the various treatments, and what the future holds for this condition. Medical advances are being made all the time by the conditions leading surgeons. Please let us know if there is anything further you would like added to this site. Be sure to consult with your doctor before making any medical decisions.

I had my acupuncturist help me with my sweating issues, and it worked great. If you need references, feel free to write back:)
I imagine it is not something that you want to hear but check with your doctor. You have teenage kids so it could be stress, it could be hormones or it could be something else.
If it is hormones or stress there are a number of remedies, some easier to deal with than others. I'd start the natural and/or homeopathic route and see if that eases it.
If you enter sweating in a search engine you'll come up with a lot of causes and some things that you can do about it. Some things were references to hot drinks, spices and things like that.

Mornin M., Well if you are in Colorado, this has been a horrably humid season. I have started taking new pills this year for a health condition, they make me sweat so bad, especially on HUMID days. My daughter recently graduated, at the graduation I knew it would be warm, due to all the bodies, however, I wished I had had a towel, the next day I threw her a baby shower, and again poured. My sister who is 11 years older kept commenting on me going thru menapaues. (THANKS) any way do you finish your shower with cool to cold water, than apply powder. More extreme measures go to your dermatologist. They have procedures. I don't think I could do it. You have to stay out of the sun. I can not do that. I love the sun.
I want to wish you best wishes, this can be a very embaressing and irratating. I feel your pain.
Best wishes.

are you sure that you are not premenopausal and having hot flashes? they can happen off and on all day and night and can cause loads of sweating.

Check with your regular doctor first and make sure it isn't hormones or your thyroid. I had a friend who had major sweating issues and went to her regular doctor and she ended up having surgery for it. They call it hyperhydrosis. The doc was wonderful with her and she just went back a second time for her feet. I think the website is sweaty-palms.com. Funny name I know.
My husband also has suffered with this and we ended up getting something over the internet called Maxim antiperspirant. He uses it on his forehead and armpits. It has been a lifesaver for him. He uses it about 1x a month now and has not had breakout sweating problems since. Good luck~
Every person is different, but this is what has worked for the people that I know.
Have you been to the doc about this? It seems rather drastic to shut yourself away from society! Go see a doc, there's got to be something they can do to help you, right?
Hi M.,
I have a friend who had this problem ... I believe hers was more limited to hands and feet, but a doctor diagnosed her with a disorder (sorry, I can't remember the name) and recommended surgery. She had the surgery a few years ago and had not had the problem since!
You don't say how old you are so I'm not trying to insult you, but could you be experiencing hot flashes? They can be pretty severe for some people. There are medications you can take to alleviate the severity. I take meds for mine and they have helped tremendously ... it doesn't completely eliminate them, but they are less frequent and less severe. No more sweat rolling down my face! I'm not talking about HRT.
Best Wishes,
L.
Go to your doctor. I've known people that have had similar problems. The last one I knew was a teenage girl and the problem was with her glands. She would perspire badly, but especially on her palms and feet, and it was so bad she would never hold a boy's hand fearing they would think she was a freak. They explored many options including surgery to fix the problem. This could be a similar thing with you, or it could even be hormonal. Even though your youngest is 6 you could be going through serious hormonal swings, and there might easily be a solution to your problem. This is something you need to discuss with your doctor and see what options are available to you. Good luck!
Shower with deodorant soap - like Dial - every day
Switch to a new deodorants/antipersperant - your body gets used to the deodorant you wear the most.
baby powder - under your breasts, top of your bum, under your arms (the parts you don't already use deodorant on), between your legs if they touch when you walk and anywhere else you sweat a ton.
wear 100% cotton clothing from head to toe.
I'd try that before seeing a doctor.
See a chiropractor who also practices natural medicine! I have a great one if you want a reference- I would bet money that he could get it under control with some herbs, even if it is due to hormones!!! Good Luck!
I would get your thyroid levels tested -- you might have hyperthyroidism.
I recommend you go to a doctor. Not sure where to start? Try the thyroid.
Hi M.,
I just read an article in Better Homes and Gardens that stated that Botox is a great treatment for sweating. According to the article it is effective for 85% of those who are treated. The article also stated that most insurance companies recognize the condition and pay for the Botox treatment.
I hope this helps and good luck!
get yourself into a dermatologist for sure! It's called hypohydration- or something similar. I'm sure they can help :) don't stress just get to the dr. just ask before you go in if that is something up the dermatologist's alley- vs a gen. practicioner.
