I have tried some of the long lasting lipsticks but they leave a dried out feeling. I need color all the time and get tired of spending money on products that really don't work. Thanks for any help you can suggest.
Hi K.,
I lick my lipstick off all the time -- but for best results, I use a lip pencil for color, then top off with lipstick. I do use Arbonne, and would be glad to send you some information. E-mail me at ____@____.com for information. No hard sales pitch -- just want to give you a number of choices.
Best wishes -- I've been married 34 years also -- 35 in May.

Try LipInk.com They have a wide variety of shades at reasonable prices. These colors go on in a thin layer that is like a stain, they have a gloss that goes on top, but often I use other glosses that I like better. I have one tube that is 2 yrs old and it still goes on as if it where brand new. Good luck

Good Morning K.,
I wanted to recommend Mary Kay lipstick. I've been using Mary Kay products for over 20 years and I love it. I've tried other lipsticks and don't like the way they smell or the way they leave your lips looking cracked. I always use lip liner first, then Mary Kay lipstick. For a night out, I put on my lipstick, place a tissue over my lips and brush Mary Kay face powder over my lips, it will last all night.
My representative is a great, Christian woman living in Fort Worth, her name is Mary Lopez, her number is ###-###-####. Good Luck! C. C. in Fort Worth

The higher end lipsticks at the department stores or places like Sephora do work well. Clinique, Estee Lauder, Lancome. I use these for special occasions, etc.
My favorite thing to use right now is the tinted Bert's Bees in Merlot and it stays on well plus adds color while I get a great lip balm.

Hoping this link works... But I stumbled across this right before my wedding 3 years ago and have been using it ever since. It's Ulta's "Extreme Wear All Day Lip Cover". It's a liquid lip color on one end, a gloss on the other. Now, it IS DRY, but I keep a lip gloss or chapstick on over it and it does fine. But this stuff STAYS ON. Feels like it's painted on. And it's not expensive, just $10 a tube.
Arbonne has wonderful lipsticks that don't dry out your lips - they are formulated with peptides and increased emollients, and vitamins that nourish and protect lips. When I'm not wearing lipstick, I wear Arbonne's Lip Saver with SPF 30.
I am an Independent Consultant for Arbonne and I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have or help you in anyway. Please feel free to contact me.
All the best

I have had great luck with Covergirl's Outlast All Day Lipcover. I only have apply it once (including the topcoat). Love it! Good luck!
I'm also a lipstick fanatic and have to have something on at all times. I've tried the long lasting types and had the same experience. What I use and LOVE now is Mary Kay lipstick. I use liner and lipstick with a touch of gloss usually in the morning, and don't need to reapply until after I eat lunch. It does not dry my lips out either. The best part is, if you don't like it and it doesn't work for you, you can return it and get your money back!

I'm not to into department store brands. I've honestly never found them worth the cost. Just an opinion.
I like maybelline superstay. It has a liquid gloss you apply. Then after it dries, you add the stick gloss. My lips aren't left dry and it stay on all day.

I like Lancome lipstick & then I use MAC lip gloss over it. The lipstick stays very well throughout the day but I touch up with the MAC gloss. MAC has several different kinds of gloss, I love the Plushglass in 'Oversexed' shade! LOL The MAC gloss is about $17 a tube but lasts around 3 months so its worth it. Plus if you find a shade you love, you'll never change. I've been buying the oversexed for 3 or 4 years. There is a MAC counter at Dillards at Hulen Mall. I think there's one at the Parks mall as well. You can buy online too (maccosmetics.com)

In your case, I think permanent lipstick is the way to go. All "long lasting" lipsticks are going to leave the dry feeling, that's how they work, they use an alcohol base to adhere the color to your lips. They can also cause premature aging. If you aren't into changing your lip color all the time than I would definitely go for permanent and you could change the tint of your color with colored lip gloss. Good Luck!

I use Covergirl long lasting - blue top - it dries out, but you can use a moisture sealer on top of it for shine - not vaseline, it will remove the lipstick - I also use Mabeline Superstay (16 hr) - one side is the color, the other side is the moisture lipstick - I put this on when I get up for work, and have to take it off with babyoil at the end of my day - stays on through meals and kisses :)(touchup in the corners sometimes only)I won't use anything else!!! have fun!

I've used Avon's Beyond Color lipsticks for years. They're about $8/stick, and I only need to re-apply after eating a big meal usually. It's totally moisturizing and even plumps your lips up. It does get on water glasses and things like that though. I've even had people ask me how I keep my lipstick on all day. Good luck!

I have had good luck with the L'oreal lipsticks in the gold container. Also, I learned this from a friend - she bought a pan stick (like the old pan cake, but in a blue tube), and she puts a little of that on her lips before applying her lipstick (she also uses L'oreal) and her lipstick stays on all day long!!! Goood luck with this!

I too, have looked for a lipstick that will last, but not dry out. The best one I have found is by Loreal called Infallible. There are two sides to it, one the lipstick, the other a lip gloss/conditioner. The lipstick does dry out, but the gloss helps a lot. The thing I like about this lipstick is it really stays on; no lipstick on glasses or napkins. Good luck, if anyone has a better one, please share.

I really like le paige lip stain. It does not dry your lips out and it is a stain. It can last 4 to 8 hours depending on your lips - dry or not... I apply a moisturizer to my lips (sometimes use vaseline - yikes...) while I am putting on my make up and then wipe it off and put the lip stain on. I may put a colored tint over it to give it a hint of shine but you don't have to. It works great and my husband loves it because it does not come off when I kiss him or have a taste. Here is the link to their site: http://www.lpaige.com/. I get it at the health hut off of harwoord road in Bedford. I'm sure they carry it other places, but that is where I know they have it. I hope it works for you. I like the coral (yellow) and the pink (white). Enjoy! D.

I've tried all the retail brands, Cover Girl, Max Factor, Mabelline, etc for a long lasting lipstick. I found the ones that are two step process, the color and then the clear coat work the best and last the longest. I found Max Factor lasts forever, but it does dry out your lips. I use Mabelline because it last awhile and it is not as drying as some of the other brands. I just wanted to give you some less expensive options that work for me. If I wore make more often, I would invest in the higher-end brands.

I agree with the permanent makeup responses. I had my full lips done several years ago. If you decide to go that route, I would suggest you go to your dentist before your makeup appointment and have him do a dental block for you. This will numb your whole lips without numbing your mouth. Otherwise, you may not be able to stand the tattooing procedure.

Maybelline superstay which is the lip color and comes with condtioner. and if your lips start to feel dry, just put on more condtioner. I have to do networking events for my work and sometimes I still see this stuff on my lips the next morning. It's great and there are usually coupons in the newspaper for it.

I love Bobbi Brown and Lancome. I too am a lipstick hound. My friends in college used to laugh that I would roll out of bed AFTER I applied my lipstick. You can also try Loreal as they are owned by the same company as Lancome. I have had really good luck with all three brands.
