My husband, 6 month old daughter and I are moving to the Lakewood area at the beginning of March 2007. I belonged to a mom's group in San Francisco that was highly organinzed and extremely beneficial. So I was hoping to find something like that in the Lakewood area. I would also be willing to help organinze a small group that could get together on a somewhat regular basis.

Try www.LECPTA.org (Lakewood Early Childhood Parent Teacher Association). They should have most of the information you need there, including playgroups for your child's age. On Tuesday, February 20th one of the members is hosting a Mardi Gras party for parents and their children at her house. These parties are usually a lot of fun for the kids and it will give you a chance to meet some other parents and get a feel for the organization.

I live in the area and would be interested. Both my husband and I work as well. We have a 10 month old little girl that is cared for by a wonderul nanny in our home while we work.
Try the meetup group Moms and Dads In the Loop. They are centered around Lakewood, and have like 2-4 events a week.
I live in Junius Heights(just behind the Lakewood theater) There is Lakewood Early Childhood PTA that has a playgroup. You can also join Dallasareamoms.com. There are quite a few of us in East Dallas.
I am also a member of LECPTA. There are some great groups to join. Playgroups and supper clubs which can help you to meet other parents as well!!
