I wanted to find a good Pediatric Dentist in the Acworth/Woodstock area. My son is 3 and it is time for his check-up. We moved from Augusta in August of last year where I already had a dentist lined up but now looking for a good one. Who would you all recommend?

Thanks!!

What can I do next?

Hey J.,
Just wanted to second the Dr. Hester referral. I have been going there since we moved here 3 years ago and am now bringing my kids as well. He is great with them.

One note...he is located in downtown Kennesaw, NOT Acworth. His sign out front says something like Kennesaw Family Dentistry.

Here's the link to his site with contact info:

J.,

I have a son that was considered developmental delay and is now ADHD the group I go to is called Children's Dentistry of Woodstock they have a website you can look at and their number is ###-###-#### they are located near 575 on Towne Lake Parkway.
I told you about my son because I before this group went to a few ped dentist that wouldn't let me go back with my son and hold his hand and the old group even went as far as to put my son in a wrap without asking or telling me or calling me back. The group I now go to allows parents to come back (best not to bring another child with you so you can focus on the child at the dentist if you need to go back) plus room is limited. You can hold your childs hand I have not ever in3 years had a bad experience. Yes, there's lots of kids it's a ped dentist they have many chairs and dentist. They have rooms for children that cry (lets face it some cry no matter what) the rooms are quite rooms so if a child needs to cry others don't hear it and become afraid (this was one thing I was happy about). My son is now 7 yes I go back with him I still hold his hand he's always be treated in kindness he gets tokens at the end so he can get his little toys he's always left with a smile even when he's had to have a tooth pulled with novacaine shots too.
They have video games the office is colorful. My 5 yr ols (who is afraid of nothing but spiders) just went yesterday got his teeth cleaned all by himself he's went for a few years now and his just now becoming an pro. He likes going back alone he got extra tokens and let all the young ladies know he was brave. My 5 yr old is very different from my 7 yr old. Our youngest went last month also and he still has mom hold his hand and tells the ladies cleaning his teeth to hurry up so he can go get his ice cream since he came with his mom and is letting them clean his teeth. You may even want to call them and walk through by yourself before taking any kids with you and see what you think. Hope you find someone that you like for your family, best wishes.

Dr. Bruce Hester in downtown Acworth, he's next door to the old library. My family has been seeing him for about 10 years my kids were pretty young when they first started seeing him. The whole staff is friendly and Dr. Hester has always been great with my kids, even when my son was frightened because he needed a filling. My husband and I aren't good dentist people because of bad experiences when we were kids, we will not go anywhere else because he is great with grown up scardey cats also...LOL!!

OOPSS>>>Someone drew to my attention that I made I mistake in my post..Thank You>>

Dr Hester is in downtown Kennesaw not downtown Acworth!!

I like going to a family dentist. That way, the kids can sit in and watch you have a WONDERFUL time in the dentist's chair and be well prepared and even excited for their turn!

Hi J.! We have used Children's Dentistry of Woodstock and have been happy with them aside from occasionally long wait times. But at a pediatric dentist that is normal since they work on kid time and see lots of nervous, crying patients. I think a poster below included their phone # and etc. Good luck!

Hickory Flat Dental has a great pediatric dentist. They are on Hickory Flat Highway (140) in the Mill Creek Center (where Family Traditions Restaurant is located). My daughter, Mia, has gone to him (Dr. "Andy", I think his name is) and he was really good.

On the negative, they tend to be really pricey. For adults, my husband and I decided to look somewhere else. But I needed a pediatric dentist for my little girls, and it looks like this one'll be it.
