Severe Ovary Pain

I was wondering if anyone else has had severe ovary pain and maybe cysts on their ovaries. Has anyone had them removed laparoscopically or by any other methods? I have gone to see a gyncecologist and all he has done is give me antibiotics so i am in the process of getting another referral to see if someone can help me. I was wondering if the cysts would cause enough pain to make it seem similiar to contractions and such.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, I went to the new doctor and he found through an ultrasound that the ovary had been sealed off from my endometrial ablation. There were two large sacks of blood inside the ovary and it was filled with fluid also. He drained them (very painful!!!) and said that the pain and bleeding should be gone in 2-3 days. Well, it's been a week almost now and the pain is still there as well as the bleeding. He said if this happened we would have to talk about a hysterectomy. So, I guess I will be calling him tomorrow to schedule a talk and a date for that now. I will let you know what happens from here.

I am having some signs just like that right now and I also have not had a menstral cycle since Oct.20 so I thought I was pregnant I had taken 4 negative pregnancy tests and decided since it was already into Dec I better do something so I went to the Dr Monday and he set me up to do an ultrasound to see what it is cause with my symptoms he said it could be anything from a tubal pregnancy to endomitriosis to a cyst to some form of cervical or ovarion cancer.. I go to do my ultrasound today and I will try to get in touch with you and let you know what they find maybe it will give you some idea of what to do hope this helps..

I highly recomend seeing Dr. Foley at Advanced Gynecology. He is one of the best dr's I have seen. The other dr's are great as well. They saved my life last year when I had an ectopic pregnancy rupture.

I had a laparoscopy about 16 years ago when I was 18, My Doctor told me they just drained the cysts, I do remember them being quite painful, like period cramps only all the time. I've never heard of antibotics for cysts so I'd get a second oppinion too. I now have a lot of pain on and off but I also have the Mirena, which is like an IUD, which could be part of the cause of the pain I have. Or maybe my cysts have grown back. Hummm.
Here's some good info I found on Webmd.com

My mom had this and eventually had to have hysterectomy. I would definitley seek a second (and third) opinion for treatment. A specialist in this if you can find on OB that specializes.

M.,

My mom had cysts on her ovaries and they did cause severe pain in that area. So, it could be that! You can request a ultrasound to rule that out. Hope that helps a little.
