pinterest.... how I wish I had that much time to look on pinterest
Blogs, write a blog, facebook, damnyouautocorrect.com
I'm 100% grateful to have a boss that will pay us out of his pocket while we wait for new clients and new work to trickle in... but in the meantime, I have nothing to do. There's no work to do but I'm here, all day. Any suggestions on websites or something I can do to pass the time? I have thought of reading, crossword puzzles, learning to crochet... but eight hours a day is hard to fill. What are your favorite websites? Besides this one, of course. :)

When I'm bored, I go to youtube and look for funny cat or dog videos! Some of them on there are just hilarious!
Seems like you should be marketing for new work.
i love fu autocorrect and damn you autocorrect.
You could take an oline class and work on furthering your education! :)
Shop for Christmas early
Find a way to make yourself more valuable. When our phones are slow, I make proactive calls. I call current clients and review what they have and suggest ways to save money or point out other products we have that might be right for them. It's great for building rapport and solidifying trust. When I am able to help someone I ask for them for referrals. Most of what I bring in is referrals from satisfied people. I use all those numbers to my advantage when it comes time for a review or raise. You can also spend that time reorganizing processes or revamping the way you do things, organizing and coming up with new ideas. Be sure to brag about all this in front of your boss. If things dont pick up, you dont want tobe the one they let go.
I'd be looking for a new job. No one can pay employees forever if no new work comes in.
Otherwise:
www.TED.com (will require headphones as it is a collection of videos).
Brainstorm ways to bring in new clients!

You're welcome. Let me know when you've peed your pants laughing ;)
Is there anything you are interested in studying? It sounds like you are being given a gift that could benefit you tremendously! I would probably spend the time studying herb, homeopathics, essential oils, nutrition, etc. I would also probably spend some time studying doctrine, but that's just me. Any classes you'd like to take? There are some free online ones available. What about starting a blog or something? Is there something that interests you that you could write about? You might even be able to turn something like that into a money-maker for you. Double bonus! Great question. Too bad you don't live closer, I have things I could have you do for me to help chase away the boredom... ;)
If I had extra time, these are things & websites I would go to:
Drudge Report
Bill O'Reilly
Make Christmas list
can you help him get new clients?
When I worked in an office and my boss was gone, I would google recipes and cut and paste them into a word doc and then either print them out or forward it to my personal email. I also did that with motivational articles, parenting articles, etc. I have binders and binders full in the garage...lol!!!
What type of business is it? Would he be open to you networking on his company's behalf? If you're a people person, it would be something you'd enjoy, and something you that could help bring in business. Ping me if you have any questions.
I have the same problem! I reorganized both email boxes and caught up on all my writing. I wish I had started re-learning Spanish, but it's not too late.
I volunteer for work around the office but in construction, we are just starting up and there is only so much work to do...
I go over to Cafemom out of boredom but it's too weird (layout + attitude) for very long. I google what interests me & go from there -- organizing the house, etc.....
Let us know if you find any more mom sites that are good. I'll never give up Mamapedia but always on the lookout for stuff to do....
I answer questions on Yahoo Answers. I'll do research on science stuff that intrigues me, or look up actors and read up on them to see how they got started etc. I like to look up vacation spots and escape through the pictures. lol
Google "Just For Laughs". This was a show from Canada and they have a few videos that are hilarious!
I like to look up jokes and watch videos on Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy etc. They are hilarious!
If your boss seriously doesn't care what you do on company time, I guess you can do stuff that isn't work related. But I wouldn't really want to work with a boss like that - bringing in business is important to the viability of the company.
I hope you can find some way to create something for the company's sake, or at least take a class online that will make you a better employee - something related to your field.
Good luck!

(Also, I agree w/Sue about looking for a new job, however, your boss could figure it out by viewing your computer's browsing history, so be careful!)
