Is it on the right? Could it be your gall bladder?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem... I was pretty nauscious my entire pregnancy, and my gut always seemed to hurt once the baby started kicking in the womb... (just at/slightly below my ribcage) it felt soooooooooo bruised... but now it has been 5 months since delivery and it STILL hurts so much. I don't think it is acid reflux, though i am not sure. It feels bruised, tight, like it's in a knot... It's not 100% of the time, but there is no rhyme or reason as to when it feels fine... I am just greaful for those moments when it doesn't hurt. but then the pain always seems to come back :-(. I have no idea what it is, and just wondered it anyone else has had this problem and what they did...
THANKS SO MUCH!!!! Any advice would help!
:-) M.

I'm totally guessing here, but could you have gotten some kind of hernia during your pregnancy?
Regardless, you should definitely see your doctor, that doesn't sound like the sort of thing you should be having to live with.
I had the same problem, and still do...maybe...I get pains below..in my uterus area..that would come and go. By the time I'd make it to the doctor, it'd be gone. So, one day recently (about 3-4 weeks ago), as I was getting myseld and my toddler ready for work, I felt the pain again, but this time it lasted longer and was VERY intense. I had to lay on my couch wrathing in pain! I staggered to the phone and called my mom to take my daughter to school, then made an appt. to see the doctor...I was then went to get an ultrasound (I KNEW I was not pregnant), and they finally gave me the diagnosis: A CYST IN MY RIGHT OVARY HAD HEMMORAGED. Apparently, women have these pains all the time, they usually come and go because the cysts that our body creates normally (i think during ovulation) usually had clear fluid, so they burst, and all we feel is that sharp pain, but it never lasts more than a few seconds. But at that time, the cyst had blood in it, and when it burst, that's why the pain was so intense. They said it was normal and there was no medication or anything to help it...Just my opinion...and personal experience
What do you mean by "gut" exactly? If you mean lower abdomen, that's one thing, but if you mean epigastric (around stomach and esophagus right below the rib cage), that's something else entirely. I have gallstones that showed up on a CT that was being done for something else. That pain is in the epigastric region and comes and goes.
Regardless, you should definitely see your doctor.
