If sweating is his only symptom, then I would not be concerned. Some children just sweat more than others do. If he starts showing other signs of illness, then I would be concerned.
I hope this helps.
Put my little guy down earlier, around 8:15 this evening, about 30 min ago I went in to check on him and his head and his sheets are drenched with sweat! His body is dry. No fever. Took his temp. several times. He is cool, clammy; not hot. Should I be concerned?
Thank you for the responses! I felt that it wasn't anything to worry about but this website is so great that I thought, "why not have the Ladies tell me what they think?" Again, thank you. I will keep my son nice and cool, and the room well vented.

don't worry about it. my son is the same way and always has
been a night sweater. I have always been as well, since my
childhood. My pediatrician told me that children have more
sweat glands per square inch in their bodies and have a lot
more going on in their sleep than adults, so conseqently they
sweat more. She told me to keep the bedding in his crib
light and to dress him in breathable, lightweight clothing
to sleep in, also to make sure his room is well-ventilated
and not warm or stuffy. he still sweats, but not as much or
as badly.
Enjoy that little baby scent while you can, because when they
get to be about 2, sweaty little boys kinda start to smell
like wet little puppies!! ;) hope this helps.
Good Morning A., Our 4 yr old gr son Asher, is our personal little heater. When the 3 come to spend the night at Nana & Papa's, Asher always crawls up on the couch with me to sleep for a little while ( we camp out in the livingroom for movies and POpOpOpoOOpcorn) He will be there 5 mintues tops and I am soaked. If anyone is ever cold they grab Asher to warm up...lol He has been this way since birth. So it is nothing to worry about unless there are other things going on.
God Bless Always

Our little guy has been sweaty since he was really small--often has a a damp pillow and hair after sleeping and we have questioned the pediatrician and we were told it's normal. We have also noticed he is always sweaty when he plays too, he just sweats easily!! Our little one is completely opposite and gets cold feet while sleeping!! I know what you mean about taking his temp a lot I repeatedly took our little one's temp and he never had a temp!!!!! Try not to worry but keep your eye out for other signs of illness.
Hi, I have a 5 year old son and he had the same problem. Asked the Dr about it and it's nothing to worry about. He still has a sweaty head when he sleeps to this day. I know it seems kind of crazy - but don't worry.
Most likely, you don't need to worry. It could be a small fever that broke before you checked on him that you didn't notice earlier, from teething or a virus, could be from a nightmare, being wrapped a bit too warmly, or he could just be a "sweater". Your body temp fluctuates throught sleep cycles, which is why even we as adults, with good temp control can be sweaty and hot one minute and freezing, pulling for covers the next.
Now, IF you should notice that morning after morning you are waking up to him drenched with sweat, wet PJs and sheets...then please get him to the doc and let them check him out and do some labwork. Until then...no worries!
It could just be that he's sweaty or gets hot with too many blankets...
It could also be diabetes. I cared for a little boy, of course he was a little older (1- 1 1/2 yo).... he would always sweat at night terribly and would beg for water during the day. Come to find out he was diabetic type 1.
I would get your little one checked just to be sure... It's just a doctor's visit and perhaps a test, but I feel it would be worth it.
Best wishes!
My boy sweats all the time when he sleeps but usually just on his head. His father does as well so I think it is just a guy thing. As long as there is no fever I would not worry about it.
my husband is over 50 and his head still sweats at night , you just have to keep his pillow case changed more often!
I had a hot little guy too...I just gave up on the sleepers and he slept in his diapers. He seemed to sleep better for that too. He's 5 now and still only sleeps in shorts. I wouldn't worry too much about it...maybe even put a fan in the room with him to circulate some air and give him some white noise.
Put a ceiling fan in his room. That will help with the air flow and keep him cool all year round. My husband and I are both hot natured and so are our kids. We live by fans and he even has an extra one on him at night. We open the windows whenever the weather is great. He doesn't need covers either. It is something we are used to and babies really don't need them. My girls still sleep without covers most days. Good luck and God Bless.
This could be several things. One being pain, has he had an ear infection, cutting molars, etc. Some babies don't cry, but their heartrates and breathing go up, and sweat. Or if his HR and BR are elevated (over 130 Beats/min while asleep, 40+ breaths, over 160 BPM while awake, 60+ breaths while sitting up and still) and it stays like that for a while, he could have a virus w/o a fever. If it happens several times along with the sweating, I might have someone look at his heart. Some things can arise at 7 mos. Believe me, we know. If his color is fine ( no blueness in his mouth, around his mouth and nose, purple fingernails) I would not guess it is his heart. If his breathing is labored, yes I would worry and have him seen immediately. hth
