The Dreaded Double Stroller!

I am in desperate need of a double stroller but I hate all of the ones that I have seen! I have a 35lb (almost) 2 year old and a 2 week old newborn. I need something that my Graco Safe Seat can fit in and gives my toddler enough room for his long legs. And I don't want one that's over 30lbs, either... I really don't know if this exsists.
Do you guys have any suggestions?

i have a two year old and a four month old and i bought the sit and stand double stroller from one step ahead. my graco infant seat snaps in the front and my older daughter sits in the back. when she gets bigger i can take the seat out and there is a bench for her to sit on or she can stand on the back...hope that helps!

I have kids the same ages and I have the BOB and LOVE it!! It's 30lbs, fits our Gracco car seat and drives really smoothly. It's a little cumbersome to get in and out of the truck but I've decided that most double strollers probably are. It's also a little bit pricey, but it's def. worth EVERY penny. What I did was go on amazon and look at the reviews for the different strollers and you can look at the different features that you're looking for. A friend of mine has the city mini with the car seat attachment and she seems to really like that one but the seats might be a little small for your older one. Good Luck!!

We have the Baby Jogger City Mini Double and LOVE it! My boys are 22 months and 6 months. Surprisingly it fits through all standard doors (just barely, though) and it steers as well as the Bugaboo we had with our first-born. Tires are oversized by aren't inflatable, which keeps maintenance down -- no pumps, flats, etc. The double is super lightweight and collapses easier than our basic umbrella stroller. The sun shades are large and have some cool features so you can keep an eye on the kids and/or let light in/keep it out. You can recline the seats individually, too, and are not limited to 3 different positions (like you are with the Bugaboo, if you're familiar with that stroller).

I'd highly encourage you to check it out. And, if you test drive it and like it, check CraigsLits; we got a barely used one for $250, and the seller included the rain cover and mommy console. It was a steal, but would've been worth it even if we paid full price. Good luck! And, congrats on the new baby. :)

Just purchased a double side by side combi at Toys-R-Us. Love it. It fit our Graco infant carrier but we purchased a clipping strap to make sure the carrier was held down snuggly.

I bought what is (I think) a Graco double stroller from someone through Craigslist. I hate it. I never strapped in the safety seat, it is front-to-back and a pain to turn. I put my 35-pound toddler in the front but he can drag his feet on the wheels if he wants to. The baby never cares where he is. If I had had the funds, it would have been nicer to invest in a good quality off-road or jogging stroller that is side-by-side (even though it would make us bulkier). My stroller is heavy but I can manage it one-handed. I also invested in a Hotsling when the baby was a newborn and until he was too heavy and squirmy I wore him everywhere and just used our Jeep umbrella stroller for my toddler. Probably not what you wanted to hear. Good luck!!

Edit: I checked at home and mine is Carter's (and I hate it). Hope you get something that works well for you!

I will be having a girl in December a couple of weeks after my little one turns 2. Thank you for this question. We have looked a lot at Phil and Ted's although I don't know how well they do with a car seat - anyone out there think this is a good option?

Hey there,

I love the Maclaren Techno stroller. I found it to be the easiest stroller in everyway opening/closeing, turning, etc...

Your older son can sit or stand on the back. While the baby is in the infant seat there's less room for him to sit, but I think it's more manageable than most double strollers. I especially like that the little seat in the back has a buckle/strap, so there's no way he can jump off while the stroller is moving. I think there's a minimum age for the older child, but your son sounds big so he'd probably be fine. Just make sure you get the Ultralight one... the original version is bigger and not as easy to maneuver.
