Hi! What are your 9 year old girls into? Mine has a room full of barbies, polly pockets, dollhouse, etc.. I think it's time to clean out her room and make some room in there. I hardly ever see her playng with that stuff. She says she does at night before she goes to bed. So, I'm just wondering what your girls are into at 9. Also looking for some ideas for Christmas (I start early!) I have lots of books picked out that I know she'll enjoy (she loves to read) but have no other ideas.

What can I do next?

Hi- My daughter just turned 8 and while she still plays with dolls a bit, I can definitely see her interests turning to other "older" things.
We have tried to spend more on "experience" gifts lately - tickets to things she likes or "coupons" redeemable to a day at a museum, etc (your library will have cheap passes you can get).
She is a huge reader as well and I think the best thing we have given her is a Nook (the Barnes and Noble version of the Kindle). We always bought books for her and used the library, but this is so great for her. Certainly keeps the clutter down - she takes it everywhere and doesn't have to lug a backpack of books on vacation, etc.
She has an account and when she save up her allowance she can buy a book, we give her some as "rewards" for things, and family members give her gift cards for special occasions.
I specifically bought the one that does not allow apps - this way it is only for reading.
You could preload all the books you have chosen for her to start her "library".
Hope this helps a bit - good luck!

My daughter is 10, she has 2 dolls that she adores and still plays with, she has Barbies and she has a ton of those Littlest Pet Shop figures. She has a bookshelf full of books, she loves to read. She has a wii and a handful of games for it. She mostly loves art stuff though, she has her own art desk and I keep her supplied with all assortments of art supplies.
She really was in to these K'Nex a year or two ago, but she has not played with them in a long time and they have more or less become relegated to her baby brother, although they will all play blocks together and play dough.
She enjoys helping me with baking so if I am thinking ahead there is a good chance that I will be on the look out this year for her an apron of her own ( I always wear one when i am cooking/baking) and maybe some of her own kitchen utensils in a cute color.

My daughter is 7 and is done with barbies, polly pockets etc. She plays with arts/crafts, legos, puzzels, magnets, science kits. We got her a Figit for her birthday and she loves it.

My friend has a 10 year old daughter and she is into her DS and the games (and accessories), computer games (like Farmville), Webkins and her new trampoline.

Is she into any arts & crafts? Movies you could buy her? Nail polish? Body spray / wash?

I remember being into arts and crafts when I was nine. She might also like nail polish or something fun and girly like that.

If you're looking for some more grown up toys, I'd love to recommend a couple of Discovery Toys that I really like. You can view these toys and more on my site at http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/karenchao

1. Mosaic Mysteries - Recreate one of the 50 patterns suggested in the guide or create infinite possibilities of your own. Use creativity, thinking, and math skills to design and complete beautiful tile mosaics

2. Wiz Kidz (one of my favorites to play even as an adult!) - think fast to come up with an answer to the clue using the specific letter of the alphabet (ex: a kind of car that starts with the letter H) With multiple ways to play, this is a game that she'll love to play with family and friends
