Does anyone know of a place in Macomb that offers tumbling/gymnastic lessons to toddlers that is not in a typical gymnastic gym?

I have a very active 3 y/o who is very active and would do great in this type of activity. However, she has hyposensory issues and gets easily distracted. We have tried the typical gym and all she wanted to do was run towards and try the other equipments.

TIA,
D.

So What Happened?

I have enrolled her in a program through the macomb rec center. It's geared towards children with sensory issues and developmental delay. it is at the center and not at a gymnastics gym. I can't wait to see how this will work out for her.

Sterling Heights--through the city recreation dept has a great tumbling/gymnastic program. It is pretty casual. I did it with my son at about 2.5. It would be great for your daughter...the parent helps the kid and you can pretty much do whatever of the 5 or 6 sations you want. They do a small group dance at the end.

I don't know of a class where your child won't get distracted by other kids or frustrated with having to "wait her turn" if there are other kids in the class. You may want to check into "private lessons" so to speak. We've taken classes at American Gymnastics & Cheer in Romeo. Its a true gymnastics skill building class. They also offer "self directed" free-time so your child could literally run around and try the equipment (with your supervision).

You could always try a dance class instead. Our studio offers a good curriculum, even for special needs children. You could always try it out for free the first time, and then if she likes it, you could enroll her. It is a little late in the year to actually be in the recital, but if she likes it you could always fully enroll her in the fall. Check out Anita's Theatre Dance & Performing Arts in Sterling Heights. The number is ###-###-####, and they're located at the North East corner of 16 & Van Dyke right next to Home Depot.
P.S. They may offer new tumbling classes as well in the Fall.
