Vaccuum Cleaner Advice

Hi Mamas! We have a 7 month old lab puppy who is shedding like CRAZY!!! Seriously, there are no words to adequately describe it. I currently have an enormous Kirby vaccum that works great, but it is super bulky and heavy. The majority of our home is wood floors or tile, with carpet only in the bedrooms, and area rugs. To use the Kirby on the wood, I have to use a hose attachment and then put on another attachment for the carpet. Doesn't sound like much, but considering I could stand to vaccum 3 times a day right now, it's a HUGE pain. I also have an iRoomba, which I like a lot for sweeping, but it's not heavy duty enough for all the pet hair, plus it would be running like all the time.

Sooo, I was looking into the Dyson pet hair model, but I was going to ask for suggestions/reviews. If you have something else that works great, I'd love to hear about it, or if you have any experience good or bad with this one please let me know. I borrowed my mom's Dyson (the ball one) once, and it worked pretty good on my hard woods, but it was too tall to get up under the toe kick on my kitchen cabinets, which was annoying. Anyway, TIA!!

Dyson is the only vacuum I will buy. SOOOOO LOVE IT!! And the attachments make it easy to get in the hard to reach places. :-)

We have the Bissell Pet (around $150) and I LOVE it. My Bissel claims to have the same technology as the Dyson, not sure if it is true but it sure picks up a lot of dirt and hair. However for our tile floors I have a swiffer vac and it works like a charm. I just pull out the swiffer every day or so and it takes care of all the hairballs super easy and fast. What I love best about it is how well it sucks the crud and hair that clings to the corners and the walls. I didn't realize how bad it was until it wasn't there making my floors instantly dirty again. And because I use often I can usually use the pad a couple of times before switching it out for a new one so it really doesn't cost that much (although the first few times you'll probably want to use a couple of pads to get all the "residual"). Another bonus is it picks up the little dirt so well I find I don't have to mop quite as often.

I have the Dyson ball pet vacuum and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. The pet part is actually an attachment but you don't need it for the floors. I use it on the furniture and it works great! My only complaint about the Dyson is that the cord needs to be a little longer.

We have the Dyson pet (regular) and love it! I've also used it for some of my client projects and have a client who purchased one because of that. It's awesome!
