I have a Dyson Ball and use it on my wood floors. Seems to work fine and it's very lightweight and easy to maneuver.
Hello mama's! I need to find a good vacuum for handscrapped hardwood floors. I have a Dyson Animal (made for pet hair) that I've had for 5 years, but it's just not good for hardwoods. I have several scratches from using it. I would love to get another Dyson, but just not sure which to get. Any other brands you would recommend? I want to be able to use it on the carpet as well.
Thanks!

I use a stick vacuum for quick clean ups.
The best thing is a micro fiber cloth mop. Bona has a great one.
I just use a regular vacuum on my carpets, plus you will increase the life of your hard wood floors if you use something more gentle than a regular vacuum.
My old house had central vacuum. There is NOTHING better. I have a Kirby - but it's so heavy! - that works great with the hardwood floor attachment.
Invest in a central vac with the attachments - you'll be so glad! (We had a Xenex.)
YMMV

Get a Miele. It is expensive, but totally worth it. We got ours when we put hardwood floors in our home, and we love it.
Kirby has a great hard wood attachment. That is what my parents have and they have a ton of pets so dirt and hair gallore. It works great and even has a polishing thing that goes with it too! Kirby is cheaper when you buy from a vaccuum shop or off ebay then a door to door sales person.
I have hardwood in my kitchen and use the swiffer sweeper as well as the swivel sweeper G2.... if only they made one that works like both I would be set. LOL
I use my eureka pet pal on the hardwood too and have never seen any scratches but I don't use it too often.
Hope this helps :)
