We looked into having them done at Walgreen's for my dad. It seems that we are actually going to be able to get a lot on it, and the cost starts at $24.99.
Hi,
Just bought a new video camera and loving it! However, I have a ton of cassette tapes from my old camera that I would like to transfer to DVD. Do you mamas have a company you would recommend? I live in the San Fernando Valley.
Thank you!

You might check out Costco. They do it here in TX.
Good luck
You can buy a converter for VHS to DVD which may come out a lot cheaper than paying someone else to do it. Check Best Buy.
Hi! Cosctco does it. I just got a coupon in the mail for it. They also just had an ad on here, the mamapedia sweet deals, for that too.
Costca transfers video tape to DVD for around $20 per disc.
I had about 25 videotapes and digitized them myself using the "Dazzle" which I found on amazon for around 100$. You plug your old camcorder into the device which plugs into your computer. Play back the video and it gets digitized and saved into the computer. I bought an external harddrive and saved all the digitized video on it, rather than in my computer's hardrive. 50 hours of video took up about 2/3 of my 1 TB external hard drive.
Hi! Yes Costco and SAMs Club they do and prices are pretty good!
I live in the SF Valley too and recently used Imagine Video Services. www.imaginevideo.net. They pick up and deliver and are really nice. The prices are competitive with Costco and I think they do a better job. They index each section and have a menu so it's really easy to find a specific section. I was very happy with them.
Costco, does that.
Doing it yourself takes a TON of time and labor.
TONS of time.
We know, we tried that route.
