Want to Do Something Special for My Husband Before the Baby Is born...ideas?

My husband has been an absolute doll during our pregnancy. I've been extremely uncomfortable in the last trimester and he has done almost everything around the house. My due date is this Thursday (though the little bugger is showing NO signs of making his escape on time!) and my husband remarked today that this may be our last weekend lounging at home just the two of us. I've been wanting to sit down and write him a letter, telling him how wonderful he's been, and what a great father I think he is going to be. Anyone else do something like this? Do you have any other ideas/suggestions? I want him to know how much I appreciate him!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, I was due today but no signs of baby anytime soon. So I had a romantic dinner with my husband at the restaurant where we had our wedding. It was lovely...they even comp'd our meal. I surprised him with a love letter that I wrote and he LOVED it. He reread the letter about 3 times during dinner. So glad I did it!

Wow what a hero you have! Lucky woman you are...
I think, writing him a letter is great... and very touching...
And perhaps, you both can take a photo of yourselves... sitting on the couch at home, just casual... and hanging out all relaxed... that would be cute. Just a simple home photo done with a remote or timer on the camera, and you two hanging out lounging... with your big tummy...

All the best,
Susan

The letter sounds beautiful! Include an invitation. Go out on a date! Go to the movies! Let him pick the movie, even if it is some action, bombing, guns, sci-fi guy thing. We really miss going to the movies. Or happy hour, have mom-tini! Do something you wont be able to do when the little one gets here! Just thinking of the things we try to do when the rare opportunity comes around for us to go out. Congrats! and have fun!

How about a romantic dinner for the two of you, get out the candles and go buy steaks, or whatever sounds tempting. Then just do whatever makes for a great evening for the two of you...rent a couple of movies, have friends over to play cards, whatever you would do to have a fun weekend together.
Afterwards....well hey...they say S*X is a great way to bring on labor!!! ;-)

I made my husband a video slide show for the computer, with music in the background. I got all kinds of pictures of just the two of us, our dog, vacations, etc. He really liked it. (PS--One of the songs I used was "Beautiful Day" by U2. It went perfect with a lot of our vacation pictures.)

How about a massage for both of you at a Spa, the letter is a great idea or maybe get some Maternity pictures done at home. Congrats on the baby!
