What Craft Projects Are Popular This Year?

I'm trying to come up with a list of crafts to make this year. I don't know how to sew as of yet (one day) so I'm looking for some no sew projects. I remember when the no sew fleece blankets were all the rage or the cookies in a jar craze. What's popular this year? I looked on pinterest but don't really see anything that jumps out at me. Any thoughts?

A bunch of people at work and I are making mesh wreaths.

They are super easy and can be made for any occasion. I am making a general one for my sister (pink and brown), a Christmas one, and two sports team ones. I am not crafty, yet mine look just like the pictures. They are a little pricier than other crafts, but you can get all of the supplies for a wreath for about $15. We bought all of our stuff from Mardi Gras Outlet. I ordered Wednesday evening and it came in this afternoon.

Not sure how popular it is, but I recently started making hair bows, barrettes and headbands for DD & it's so cheap & fun!! There are so many tutorials out there, it's fool proof.

What type of craft are you looking for? Something to give as a gift? Or something to make for the home? Or something to make for your child or yourself?

What I notice on Pinterest are a lot of DIY photo projects - Mod Podging and/or transferring photos onto canvas or wood. etc., homemade wooden initials dolled up with fabric or scrap booking paper, homemade soaps, lotions, scrubs, candles, etc., DIY magnets/jewelry using clear, flat, pebble or piece of glass & scrap booking paper.

I recently saw these new pony tail holders at Target. They just looked like fancy colored elastic with a knot. They are meant to be worn like a bracelet when they are not in your hair. My daughter fell in love with them so I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a bunch of their elasticized/stretchy ribbon and cut in sizes to make ponytails and headbands. No sewing or glue is needed, just secure with a knot.

have you seen the clear jars like a mason jar or clear vase and you use wite glue and food coloring and paint them pastel colors.

That's big

and taking a blank canvas, and hot gluing a design and painting over it white. very elegant, sorry i don't have time to find it and link, i'll try if i get the chance.

I'm really surprised pinterest hasn't inspired you, I've gotten so many ideas there!
It also depends what you're into. I like cooking, home decor, photography and a bit of sewing and gardening. Lately I have:
-planted a tiny succulent garden in a terracota pot for our patio table
-took nature photos from our local regional park and decoupaged them onto canvas in a collage for my son's room (he loves hiking and camping) it is STUNNING!
I'm planning to:
-plant a few terrariums, for around the house, and if they turn out well I will make more to give as gifts
-repaint an old wood bookcase (I just need to decide where I'm putting it first)
-make valances for my daughter's room out of fabric scraps (this is something I saw in a shop window, it's no sew and really cute but hard to explain in 50 words or less lol!)
My ongoing crafts include my etsy shop where I make my diaper cakes (see my profile) and I collect interesting vintage photos which I use to make simple greeting cards and gift tags.
I get most of my inspiration from garden centers, antique/thrift shops, flea markets, magazines and now, pinterest too.
Good luck, I hope you find your creative muse :)

I'm making button bracelets by sewing all different colors and types of buttons on black elastic. I've nonchalantly asked a couple of the females in my family what their top 5 colors are and if they prefer gold or silver so they know I'm making something but haven't a clue what :)
