I used to wear heels every day for work - so that is my "used to" answer.
Now - running after 3 kids when picking them up from daycare - thanks but no thanks... I wear tennis shoes everyday. So much more comfortable.
Someone actually asked me that on FB since I'm infatuated with heels and like sharing ;)
My response?:
'Anywhere she damn well pleases!!' LOL!
But honestly... I only wear them when we go somewhere nice... so maybe, like once or twice a year!!
Where do YOU wear heels? Or if you don't wear sky high heels, where do you wear your favorite party shoes?
Do you save them for special occasions only? Wear them to the office? The grocery store? At home? Or dare I ask... in bed? ;)

I have "barbie feet". When they're relaxed my heels are about 4 inches above the balls of my feet. On top of that, I have really tall arches. Not as tall as they used to be (I could fit my entire fist under my arch with my foot flat on the ground), but they're still 2 inches tall. The COMFIEST shoes in the world are 4-6 heels.
That said... I'm 6'1... so I almost never wear them
Even when I'm super thin and willowy... that STILL puts me at 6'4-6'7.
When I'm NOT thin, it's ogreish or dragqueen-esque
To the Emergency Room?
Anytime I'm leaving the house, pretty much. And I'm 6' tall, so I don't "need" heels - but who doesn't like to have their legs look 5" longer? I figure, I'm super tall in my bare feet, so it's not like wearing flats is going to make me look short. Might as well go full-on Glamazon.
Haha. I don't. My "sky high heels" days are well behind me.
I like nice heels, but I would never attempt 5" heels. Nor have seen too many that don't look, well, kind of raunchy.
And I'm short and it's pretty well known fashion advice that ultra high heels (more than four inches) can actually make a short woman appear shorter because the calf muscles will flex too much. I don't need to look any shorter!
Any place you want to break an ankle.
I just can't do heels anymore.
I've had too many ankle injuries and they are just too weak to risk it.
I've twisted an ankle in hiking boots walking down a very slight grassy slope.
Casts and ankle braces are not sexy.
I look at some of the shoes being sold and I think I should encourage my son to become a podiatrist.
He could make a lot of money from these fashionable shoe trends.
I used to wear heels wherever...now I don't wear them at all. They hurt my feet. :)
I wear heels basically any time I leave the house - boots or sandals. But I have never worn 5-inch heels - I think I would fall over. My 3- and 4-inch heels I wear out to nice places, usually only when I'm wearing a dress or a skirt. ^_^ And I love heels, too. I used to wear them more often, but now I'm always carrying a baby, and I would never risk tripping when I have such precious cargo.
Wish I could wear 5 inch heels, I love the way they look. But after wearing heels for so long while doing a lot of walking, my feet are finally rebelling. If I wear heels 2 days in a row, I get horrible muscles spasms in my feet. It has caused me to actually have to sit down in the middle of a grocery store aisle, take off my shoe and massage my foot! Talk about embarassing! So I tend to save the party heels for special occasions.
2 places for me: The obvious: Bedroom and Las Vegas! My husband is about an inch or two shorter than me so I don't wear them out in public often. We went to Vegas in 2009 and had a dress up night. NIce dinner and a howand I rocked a fabulous LBD and a pair of probably 4 inch heels down the strip. Had a blast!!! Other than that, the thigh-high lace up 5-inch boots/heels are closed door only shoes! Fabulous question....makes me want to run home to the hubby!
My daughter is 5'11' and wears them almost everyday. They make her 6'3" and she loves the power of towering over men! loll silly girl
When I moved from a small town to Houston and then Dallas, TX I noticed women wearing heels everywhere - to the grocery, to pick kids up from school, to walk the mall. I thought these are really glamorous, frivolous, vain women! Now, I have to admit, I'm guilty of wearing heels with my jeans on a rgualr basis too. I like how putting heels, a nice bag, and a necklace on makes even jeans and a simple top look gorgeous and pulled together.
The office - I have 4 pair that stay under my desk. I wear sneakers, flip flops or snow boots into the office (depending on the season) and then switch to my heels when I get to my desk. Most of mine are 4 inches but I do have a 5 inch pair. My pants are quite long so you can't really see how high the heel is but those are the shoes I get compliments on all the time.
Ha, I like your response.
I just wore a pair last week, after 3 years I think.
It hurt sooooooooooo bad!
I think I have to start slow, and only use them to places where I know I would be sitting down most of the time.
Eventually, I would use them for dancing like I use to do before, but for now, just to sit pretty, lol.
Your response is precisely what went through my head upon reading the title of your post.
Personally, only when I'm going out, but there's a reason for that. I've yet to find a great looking AND comfortable pair of shoes because I have 1 totally flat foot & 1 with a perfect arch so nothing feels good on both feet at the same time no matter what I try.
I have a few pair of shoes that are for weddings - about 3 inches, I have a few pair that are for dancing - wedges, and I have a few pair that are for making an entrance - basically I will be sitting the majority of the even and want to make a statement when I stand - however being 6'2 I always make a statement!
Never wore them in bed...I am already taller than hubby so having fun in them is only an option if I am laying down...hehehe.
I wear heels to the store, church, dates, pretty much anywhere except at home! I am blessed that hubby doesn't care if I am taller than him flat footed or wearing 5 inch heels.
Where ever you want!! :)
I would be towering if I wore 5" heels!! I'm already 5' 8" - that would be over 6'!! YIPPEE!!!
I don't have 5" heels....booo hooo!! :) I think I have 3" pumps. I've not had really high heels in a LONG time!!
YOU GO GIRL!! wear them to the store! just like bringing out the fine china! DO IT!!! Don't wait for special occasions!! DO IT!!
Pretty much every day lately. My go to boots are 4.75 inches.
my favorite shoes are sketchers tennis shoes. so when I read your question my first thought was not where would you wear 5 inch heels but why would you wear them lol. can't even imagine trying to wear those. I would tilt over.
I used to wear them when I was single and went clubbing with my girlfriends...but that was 25 years ago:( I don't wear them anymore since they hurt my feet and I'm too clumsy to balance myself. Now, it's moccassins and sneakers.
Where do I wear my party shoes? In the kitchen of course! Nothin' like doing dishes in stilettos. I'll pump up some Nancy Sinatra tunes, put on a ridiculous outfit, do my hair and make up, and clean the house.
Keep in mind that I am *incredibly* uncoordinated. It's HARD to wear tall heels in the real world/on uneven ground. I mean, I get hurt almost daily with bare feet. Yesterday I nailed my shin on an open drawer (Where did THAT come from?) and now have two fabulous bruises and gashes on my leg. Sexy huh. My children thought I was pretty brave (yay me) when I didn't burst into tears upon sight of blood. Anyway, all that to say that in 4"-6" HEELS I am a danger to myself and all those around me. WATCH OUT CHILDREN!!! Mama's having a dish party with herself!!! No, SERIOUSLY, watch OUT.
Shorter heels? I'll wear the the grocery store or wherever. Usually I'm a boot gal, but sometimes it's a good day to eat breakfast in a pair of heels, yah know?
