8 Year Old Girl Party

Hi Everyone, My youngest daughter is turning 8 at the end of the month. She wants to have a sleepover. I am looking for inexpensive ideas to make the party fun. I thought they can make their own fleece pillow (kit from Oriental Trading), but other than that I am blank. Should I just have the girls come around 5:00 pm and just do pizza, pillows and movie, or is that just too ordinary??? My daughter is really easy to please, but I want them to have a good time and not be bored!! Thanks for any ideas!!! C.

I was thinking pin the nurse, have little cups filled with candy to resemble med cups. What are your thoughts? Is she too young for this type of party? Any feedback or advice is welcome! TIA A.

Gifts or No Gifts

Moms, What do you think of a "No Gift" birthday party? I have talked to friends and had very mixed reactions on the subject so wanted to branch out of my comfort zone to get some opinions. My son (who will be 3) doesn't need anything and we felt like it would be less stress for the parents (no shopping other than a card maybe) if we did no gifts for his party. Some thought parents who did do gifts might be put off and might not invite my son to their child's party, and others said they like to give gifts b/c it gives their child a...

Need Ideas, Hitting a Wall Here!

I seem to be having the diaper cake version of writer's block! I've decided to add several more cakes to my etsy shop, but I REALLY want to come up with some unique and different themes for them. I've done the standard boy, girl, rubber ducky, jungle, flowers, etc. I've got a sock monkey cake and I'm currently working on a hot wheels race car one and a Sesame Street one. I have other ideas that I think are good, but not all that unique, like Winnie the Pooh, Mickey/Minnie, Thomas, Rock Star, Hungry Caterpillar, Baseball, Ladybugs,...
