Rash on Arms and Legs

Hi Mammas- My almost four year old has had a variety of skin issues...molluscum on his legs and pyloris keratosis (sp?) on his arms. Anyway, over the last 2 days, he has developed a nasty rash over the backs of his arms and legs. It's spreading a little onto his forearms and calves, but not too bad. I haven't changed anything about his skin care regimen, just wondering if nay of you have any suggestions on how to treat it. He's itching like crazy, so I've been putting hydrocortisone cream on and giving him some Zyrtec at night to...

Baby Skin Problem

I took my 6week old to the doctors and was told she has baby acne, she also had a rash at the back of her neck, I was told to buy Hydrocortisone 1% and use, if her face got bad I could use a little on her cheeks which I did, now I think her cheeks and face looks worse than ever, her neck did clear up. I have stopped using everything now, her face feels really dry, scaly and I have satrted putting vaseline which is now peeling the dry areas. I worried if it may be something other than just acne, should I just wait it out.

Hydrocortisone Cream and 6 Month Olds Face

My ped. put my son on perscription Hydrocortisone cream a few weeks ago for red spots, dry spots on his face. I have had skin issues all my life and have always been told not to use HC for a long period of time. I try to not use the cream all the time, so I apply when he has the spots and when they go away I stop, BUT they come back a day or two later. Should I stop using this and find something else, call the doctor? Or just use it?? Any suggestions?

Help with Eczema

My 6 month old was just diagnosed with eczema and I am trying to get his breakouts under control. The doctors are not so helpful on what is causing it (basically saying it could be anything). At this point my poor son is covered in the rash and can't sleep because his normal self soothing method is rubbing his face with a snuggly and his face is raw. Have any of you dealt with this? Do you have any tips other than hydrocortisone on how to sooth my poor baby?

Acid Mantle (Cream Mixed with Hydrocortisone) - Is It Safe?

I have a 15 month old son who has extremely sensitive skin and had horrible ezcema (sp?) since he was an infant. We found out that it was mostly caused by an allergy to pet dander so we had to give up our pug. Well, we have been using a prescription cream on him called A-Mantle since he was about 6 months old that our Pediatric Allergist prescribed (who is associated with CHOP). This cream is a hydrocortisone mixed with some other type of cream. We use it on him practically every single day (since he still has ezcema). I specifically...

Can Prolonged Use of Hydrocortisone Cream Affect Growth of Child?

Hello moms. My 18 month old boy has chronic eczema since he was 6 months old and have been using a hydrocortisone cream prescribed by our pediatrician. We have been applying this cream, a 2.5% formulation cream since he was an infant with varying degrees of eczema relief. He has needed it on a daily basis and we have been applying it twice a day to his ankles, wrists and behind the knee--the areas that are affected. We also use Aquaphor and pretoleum jelly emollients to relieve his dry skin. We have not asked our pediatrician though...
