S.G.
hi Y.,
My name is S.. My son is going to be 3 in February. For his first birthday, we rented a community center. My son is my only child so I had no idea how to entertain 17 kids ranging from under 1 - 10 years old. What I did was have an area with coloring pages that i printed off the internet and bought crayons to entertain them. A great website for party needs, crafts etc, is www.orientaltrading.com. You can buy in bulk at reasonable prices. my theme was baby sesame street , so baby elmo, baby big bird, etc. i also played children's music and had all the kids dance and play. we also had a pinata. I know I went all out for my son because it was his first birthday. he wont' remember it, but it was a huge milestone that i thought was very important to the entire family. we scaled down his 2nd birthday and probably not do much for his 3rd but will have another bash at 5 when he's old enough to remember. You may want to just have the party for 2-3 hours maximum. You wouldn't want a bunch of cranky one-year olds running around. I'd keep it at 2hrs. Make sure you have all the little snacks that one-year olds would like. Good luck!
