I agree with most others, she is definitely sick. Watery poop doesn't mean she's having a hard time pushing.

Watery diarrhea (with a strong foul odor) and vomiting are symptoms of rotavirus. It's just one of those viruses that most kids get. You can read all about it here: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/rotavirus/DS00783 . The only danger is that they can get dehydrated pretty quickly, so offer water or pedialyte if your doctor recommends that. I also give my kids ice pops when they have either vomiting or diarrhea. It helps hydrate them and doesn't seem to cause more symptoms. I hope she is feeling better soon!

To be safe, I'd call the pediatrician. But, it sounds like she has a virus (probably something like gastroenteritis that will affect both vomiting and diarrhea).

The only way to know for sure is to call and ask.

Wish I had better advice. You may just need to wait this one out and give a lot of TLC until the bug passes.

Go to your pediatrician NOW - these symptoms could also be a sign of an obstruction in her GI track. When that happens the poop is watery because only some of it is getting past the point of the obstruction and the vomiting is because there is a build up in the GI track.
It could also just be that she has a virus, but in cases where their is an obstruction the earlier you get it treated the better the outcome.

It may be a virus, but if she does not have a fever she probably is not. She may just need a stool softener like Miralax. Take her to the doctor and have her checked out! your pediatrician can see if she needs to be checked for a blockage of some sort and /or give the propper dosage for Miralax. Their website has coupons too.

I have a close friend whose son has had this issue. He has had a problem with constipation since birth and one of the side effects he had would be vomiting while trying to poop. It definitely sounds like she is constipated and you should probably take her to the pediatrician to see what you can do to alleviate that. I know my friend relied alot on Miralax for her son (as recommended by her Dr)but maybe you can control it with dietary changes. You definitely want to get this under control since I'm sure she will be potty training in the near future. Good luck!

Im surprised your Dr didnt suggest a probiotic.. you can get it over the counter.. its call Florstor.. the children and the adult is the same strenght.. the adult version you just get more doses for your money and you just have to break open the capsule and put the powder in a juice or gatoraid (that part is important). Give it in the morning and before bed for 2 to 3 days, your child will show huge improvement by the 3rd dose. Heres why it works.. when you are thowing up and or have diarreha you lose important bacteria from your tummy, the probiotic acts as that bacteria until your body naturally replenishes the good bacteria. Hope you find this useful and let me know if you have questions! God bless!

I agree with most of the posters here - please see a peditrician soon. You might want to talk with him/her about getting your baby on some probiotics and see if your 2 y.o. has any allergies (like the one post about dairy).

My son did this around 3 yrs. We later found out that once we cut out dairy he was fine. We are slowly introducing it back to him and he's doing fine. If his stool starts getting loose we'll cut it out for a week or so.

Please call the doctor. If this is rotovirus it can be dangerous, as dehydration can happen quickly. The nurse at your pediatrician's office should be able to assess the situation/further advise. I hope your daughter is feeling better quickly.
