Nah - happens all the time. Could be the tech, could be the film, could be the machine....and it could be the kid wouldn't get in a good position. Or was asleep. Or was awake. Or gave the tech the finger.

Put it out of your mind. :)

With the increasing number of "wrongful birth" lawsuits and malpractice lawsuits, Drs are being extra cautious. If the previous ultrasound isn't clear enough for them to determine beyond doubt that that the anatomy is normal, they must repeat the ultrasound. It's pretty common to be called back to repeat a scan. Worry will accomplish nothing. If all previous scans were normal, relax and look forward to seeing your baby again before birth. It could just be the position of the baby. I know when I was pregnant they had difficulty seeing one of my twins hearts so I had to go back 2 weeks later for another ultrasound.

DId you ask why they wan tyou to come back? It could be as simple that the Dr. always like to see a certain view and teh person did not capture it.

Easier said than done, but try not to worry about what you can't control. Call your doctor and ask, be curious, not afraid.

I will say a prayer for you and the baby.

I had to have many U/S while pregnant...anytime there was anything super "abnormal" I knew immediately not the next week. It's probably like others have said one of many things. i.e. baby didn't cooperate, bad tech, bad film.

I wouldn't worry.
