I think I would try to get into see your doctor today. Don't sit around and worry. At 36 weeks, you should start going every week! and at 32 weeks, did you start going every two weeks?

I haven't seen my doctor in a while and I was just wondering is it normal or healthy if I am 36 weeks ( due June 6th ) and my stomach feels really hard and looks and feels small like there isn't any fluid in there. Is she just taking up all the space?

It's normal for the bump to go hard in the later weeks (size of bump depends on your build also) , sometimes if it is a particular area of the bump that has gone hard it is more than likely a body part of the baby , maybe the butt , or a leg or something.
if you're worried go in to see your OB. every one's pregnancies are different!
You might be having contarctions that dont hurt... i had them alot... just timethem and if they become consistant u need to go to the hospital... i would say 2 or 3 min apart. my due date was july 7th and i had my baby june 15th soo evry time your belly gets hard time it!!!!
I don't want to be critical because I don't know your situation, but at 36 weeks you should be seeing your doctor every week. I'm 31 weeks and I'm already going every 2 weeks! If you are worried, get in to see your dr right away. It's not worth risking your health or your baby's.
Without more information, it's hard to tell you for sure what you are observing. But there are some possibilities like people have mentioned
- Is your belly always hard? It would be normal for you to be having Braxton Hicks that come and go. So between contractions, your belly would have some give (feel like your nose). A mild contraction feels like your chin, and a strong contraction feels like your forehead.
- When you say it's hard, is it hard everywhere? Like others mentioned, there is less space, so on one side you could be feeling some firmness, which would be the baby's back. The kicks/little movements would be on the other side
- One reason it could feel smaller is that the baby has dropped farther into the pelvis. If that happens the top of your uterus is not as high. Another thing you could feel as this happens is more pressure in your pelvis and having to pee more.
- The last possibility is that you do have abnormally low fluid levels or the baby's not growing well.
yep, the fluid level lowers as you get closer to having the baby because they are taking up almost every space in there. i feel like my son is doing that all ready lol (i'm 30 weeks).
good luck! :)
Yes, as you get near your date, the baby grows more and takes up more room. The baby should also be changing position, getting itself ready, etc. so the shape of your belly will change too. Has your belly button popped yet? When your inny belly button becomes a full outy, your baby is done! (sadly true, hubby called it the turkey gauge)
If you haven't already, call your OB, and ask to stop by. They can have a nurse run a check/heartbeat info, etc. If you can't get in, stop by the Labor & Delivery of the hospital and talk to them. They'll be able to help you. If you do decide to get it checked at the hospital, don't go to the ER, since you're pregnant, the ER will just send you down to the Labor and Delivery.
Good luck and congrats.
