Does he have a favorite song? Have you asked him if there is a special song he would like to dance with you to? Just a thought.
I am getting married in a couple of weeks. I have found ways to incorporate my son into the ceremony, but not really in the reception. He is my only child and my fiance does not have any children. I want to have a special mother-son dance with him, but I am having a hard time finding a song that fits the situation. I want a song that is sweet, sentimental, and fun for dancing. He will be 7 years old at the end of the month and has never had any dance lessons. What are some good recommendations?
TIA

Not sure if you like country but if so, what about "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts?
I like the suggestion of his favorite song, that's great! I didn't have a wedding but we have decided on our 10 yr anniversary we are :) that's 4 more years and by that time my son will nearly be 20 and my daughter will 9 so they will be older but I've always envisioned dancing with my son (as well as my husband) to the song "ill be" by edwin mccain. Its a beautiful and not too sappy song. I love the words, it has meaning for my husband but my angels too! I can't wait!!! Best if luck love and let us know what you choose!

I just thought of another one:

Anne Murry's 'Could I have This Dance.
Have you talked to your son and asked does he want to dance at the wedding. My boys were quite grateful they only had to eat and watch.
Our ceremony had a beautiful part that welcomed them into the new family. That was enough.
I am only pointing this out because all we surprised my younger son with went over like a lead balloon. Since the idea is happiness make sure you are on the same page.
Can't help you with the song, I had a hard enough time coming up with one for me and my husband.
The only dance I've ever seen that kids love to dance at weddings (besides The Hokey Pokey) is the chicken dance.
It was always my favorite and at my wedding I danced it with a grown cousin of mine with all the kids and several more adults.
We had a blast!
I danced it with her at her wedding, too.
It's just a tradition in our family!
