I am trying to find the perfect song for my son and I to dance to at the wedding reception....I don't want to cry like a baby, but yet I want it to be special...Does anyone have an idea of a great song?

LeAnn Womack "I Hope You Dance"
It's an old song, but my mom and brother danced to "Danny's Song" by Anne Murray at his wedding. It was very touching and sweet.
Err we got stuck with that task. As it is Troy still hasn't picked out a song. Thank god we have patient vendors. :p
Seriously you son is supposed to pick out the song, it sounds like your son is pulling what Troy tried to do and I told him no.
Oh we are getting married in two weeks. :s
Simple Man-Lynyrd Skynyrd
and I hate to say it, but I think Shinedown's version of the song is better.
This will be my son and I's song. Funny how I already have this thought out and hes 2! :)
For this one I love "Through The Years" by Kenny Rogers. Another one is "Have I Told You Lately?" by Rod Stewart...I actually always sang this to my son when he was younger so that would be our special one but outside of the that I have always liked TTY.
Ask your son what song he wants to dance with you at the wedding....
i danced to Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler with my dad.
I LOVE I hope you dance!!! Talk to him!!
I used "A Song for my Son"......it was a very precious moment between the two of us 16 years ago!
my husband danced to "what a wonderful world" by louis armstrong with his mom. So appropriate for them. I also like the hawaiian singer's version of "somewhere over the rainbow"
A Song for Mama - Boyz II Men
Isn't She Lovely by Steveie Wonder. Upbeat and really nice - but won't make you bawl your eyes out.
How about "My Girl"? I think it would be cute. I also love the last responder's idea of "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers - love that one!
One of my favorite songs ever, "Find Your Wings" by Mark Harris, not sure if you consider it a mother/son wedding dance, but I think I'll use it when the time comes...
My husband and his mother danced to Lee Ann Womack's "I hope you dance."
