Adult Halloween Costume

So my husband and I are going to a Halloween party and we need to wear costumes...nothing too "adult" because there will be small children there too. Any ideas? I haven't dressed up since I was a kid, and we really can't afford to buy expensive costumes. So anything I could put together with stuff we already have would be awesome. I'm hoping that you are all more creative than I am and have some great ideas for me!! Thanks a million.

What can I do next?

ok- I went as a basket of laudry- it was so funny- Took a basket- cut a hole in the bottom wore it at my waist leve- used shoulder straps for support and popped clothes all over me - with a few used bounce strips of course and an empty detergent bottle on the side- I had clothes draped all over me- It was for school and it was real neat.

I saw the cutest costumes on Craigslist - the husband's was big bad wolf - and the wife's was little red riding hood - they were only like $55 for the set.

You can check out some of the parenting magazines for ideas - sometimes they have the "make your own from what you have" costumes. Farmer, cowboy, depends what you have in your closets. We did a ghost one year where we bought those hood masks that you can see out of but not in to, and put that on under the sheet - made the eye holes black - very cool!

Google "make your own costumes" or that kind of thing and there should be some helpful info as well. Good luck and have fun!

Worst case, you and your husband could each dress as each other - this will probably involve some thrift shop shopping, but could be hilarious :)

go to costume world down on Alpha close to the Galleria...they have the largest selection of costumes to rent, to buy and then they have lots of odds and ends....like maybe a hat for $5 will pull together a home made costume...it will help you get ideas! have fun!

I bought my custom made costume on Ebay... I find that there is a great selection on Ebay. I am going as a renissance lady. I bought a custom costume for about 50 bucks and its nicely made!

If you need to bring a halloween hostess gift basket give me a call I can make a nice one for you!
