Does anyone have a recommendation on a room air purifier. Also what about dehumidifiers.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I read the recommendations. Thanks you so much. I will research both brands listed. I had heard that some of them emit ozone as a by product and that is not good to breathe. Thanks again. You gals are the best!

I have the Oreck in each of our bedrooms and love them. They are pricey about $300 but Oreck has a monthly payment plan. You can check it out on-line if you don't have a store nearby.

I also have the Oreck one...and love it! It's easy to clean and does a great job! If you buy them from the store, ask for the floor models from trade shows and they'll sell them to you for half price!!! Gotta love that! :)

I HIGHLY recommend Honeywell. Get one of the canister (roundish) ones. I bought one nearly 12 years ago for my first born's room and it recently stopped working, so I bought a new one-- and it's quieter and a bit smaller than the last one. I also have one for my other son's room that I;ve had for 3 years. LOVE THEM! The quiet hum is like white noise in their rooms and helps them sleep well because they don't hear every little noise made throughout the house.

***A word on teh Oreck ones... when I was researching which one to get, I came across sooooo many complaints about the Oreck ones-- my biggest concern was that people had a hard time getting their money back or any results from the company. I'm glad to see a couple of people here who like theirs, but I personally have a hard time trusting the company. Try a google search and see for yourself

I buy mine at Sears. You can vacuum the main filter periodically and just change the outer carbon filter. Not sure if you're supposed to, but I vacuum the carbon one every now and then, too, instead of changing it to make it last longer
