I'm a school counselor. Besides salvation army (most of which will already be gone by now--and they're only given out through the schools) and goodfellows through the star telegram, you can also try cowboy santas.
I have 3 children ages 16,10 and 8 and Christmas is approaching very quickly and this time of year is always very hard for us. I am a single mom and I do work and I also clean houses on the side to make extra money. I want to try to find some agency for help with our Christmas this year. My kids are older and toys really arent on their list. My 16 year old is into clothes and my 10 year old is into video games. My 8 year old daughter wants a DSI. These things are hard for me to get and Im gonna need some help. I hate having to tell my kids no to the things they want for Christmas and it seems I do that every year. Any place that you guys know of for me to get help, would be greatly appreciated. As far as the Angel Tree....how do I get my children on there?

I know that the Salvation Army sponsors the holiday Angel Tree program. Maybe their website could direct you to a contact person www.salvationarmyusa.org Best of luck to you.
check with your community outreach and the churches
when money is tight they are very helpful
I just wanted to say thank you for posting this. I haven't even checked into Christmas help for my kids and since they went without any Christmas last year I am praying that one of the places below may be able to help us out as well. Thank you for posting this and I will keep you all in my prayers.
check with the school counselor. last year my daughters school did an angel tree and everything was anonymous. we picked out an angel for a boy and one for a girl. we have done this every year since our daughter was born.
I think that this is through the Salvation Army.
There are lots of radio stations that have "Christmas Wish" programs. I know 94.9 KLTY has one and I believe 106.1 KISS FM still has one as well.
Singlerose.com they have an Angel Program. I did it the first 4 years of my daughter's life. It was great. Got a highchair first year etc. I am not sure if they have any extra openings but you can try. The lady that started it is from Mansfield. Single moms that have money sponsor ones that don't.

Do you have any government financial help? Go to www.govbenefits.gov and fill out the questionaire - maybe you could get some financial help there. I would ask at school about the angel tree program. The salvation army sponsors it, but I think referrals come from schools and social workers.
This is a foundation throught the Star-Telegram you may want to try. I don't know if they have closed applications or not.
Do check with your children's school counselor or principal. I volunteer with our local school, and every year they offer assistance for parents who need extra help through the holidays. The school raises money throughout the year to be able to do this. Maybe your local school has a program like this, and you can be added to the list. It is totally annonymous! Good luck and God Bless.
