you might check out MOMS Club (www.momsclub.org) to see if there is one in your area (see the Finding a Chapter Near You link). It's been a great way for me to meet other At-Home Moms.
Congrats on the new baby!

Hi
I just had a baby Jan 30th and I am looking for other stay at home New Mommy's in my area. I am not from Texas and so all of my family and most of my friends are not around. I feel kind of like I should be doing something productive around here, but everytime I get motivated to do something my sweet little girl is hungry or has yet again pooped :) Being a full time Mom is a lot of work and I am more than happy to do it- but what else can I do around here to make myself feel more "productive?"

Check out a playgroup that I'm with. It is for the Lewisville/Flower Mound area. I just had a play group at my house today, but they do something almost every day of the week including family things and lunch dates. It says it's for 2007 babies, I'm sure you're fine to join. I think our youngest baby is 10 weeks old. Most of the babies are 3-5 months it seems, so you don't have to worry about toddlers running around and everyone understands if you're late or have to leave early and all that stuff. Hi! My name is D. and I moved from Oklahoma City almost 5 years ago...my husband was here and I lived there. I understand about leaving family and friends. I have a daughter who turns 4 on April 1st. I stay at home with her but also am building a home based business. This allows me to stay home with her (& her step-brother) but also gives me time with other adults. I love meeting new people and making new friends. A home-based business is a way to also feel productive! I'd love to share with you what I do.

I know the feeling. Check out meetup.com there are a lot of mommy groups there that post events and have playgroups a couple of times a month. Also you might look and see if there is an Early Childhood PTA in your area. I'm a member of the Arlington ECPTA and it has been a wonderful way to meet other moms.
