I have been told by many people that if you loose weight you will get pregnant, this is because the birth control store in the fat and slowly releases even after you have been off of birth control for a while.
might be worth a try?
My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for going on 2 years now. Granted we have not been activily try the whole time. With my daughter it only took a month of trying and the same with my son. I don't understand why it is taking so long this time. My doctor said the depo could still be hanging around but it should be gone by now. I have been timing my cycle and have thought I was pregnant the last couple of months but no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm open to anything.
I'm pregnant!! Yeah. Thanks for all your advice and support. The baby hopefully a girl is due Sept. 30th. I'm hoping it's a little late and born on Oct. 2nd, my dad's b-day.

I am a doula in town, and know of many women who have used acupuncture to help their bodies get pregnant. Joy Hewit-Kind of Comfort and Joy Chinese Medicine is a wonderful woman and also was awarded the 2004 Westword award for "Best Place to Get Knocked up in Denver." I highly, highly recommend acupuncture and Joy specifically!

Blessings to you! I know this can be a frustrating journey!
I know someone else already recommended the book "taking charge of your fertility" but I needed to 2nd the motion. Above all else it can help you pinpoint what may really be going on with your cycle. The best part is it helps you understand what 7 days are the best for getting to business in the month.
I know how you feel, too. There are some "home rememdies" if you like. You can try taking cough syrup containing guafenisan- to thin your mucus. You can have your husband take some, too if you think he's the problem. Make sure it does not have phenylephrine or diphenhydramine in it because those will dry you out and make the medicine a moot point.
And of course you can track your temperature and cervical mucus to get a better idea of when ovulation will take place.
Good luck!
Your progesterone may be low (which is an easy fix) and you may actually be miscarrying instead of having a period. I recommend the book call Taking Control of your Fertility by Tony someone. It is a fabulous book full of factual imformation that all women should know about their bodies. It teaches you how to know what is going on in your body.
I know you've gotten a lot of response already but I just wanted to tell you about a book I read. It's called Taking Charge of your Fertility. I used it to prevent pregnancy, but it focuses more on helping people get pregnant. It was really interesting to me. The author had clients who were accually getting pregnant but miscarrying before their period and they didn't know they were even getting pregnant. Which is a whole different situation to take care of. I also found out that you could be having a monthly period without ovulating. These were just a couple things that were interesting to me. The book is very informative and teaches you how to read your body.
Also, I just had a thought. I don't know how the depo works but I wonder if there is something you can do to flush it out of your body, like some kind of cleanse. I don't know, it was just a thought, I bet if there is something you could find it on google.
Anyway, good luck and I hope this helps. Lori
I'd recommend you see an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility.
i know it's not a popular suggestion, but when i had difficulty getting pregnant the second time around, i purchased and used a clear plan fertility monitor...i got pregnant the very first month using it in addition to taking chlomid...i used to be very regular until i got the depo shot after having my first child..i packed on 40 pounds in two months all while breastfeeding, exercising and watching what i was eating *and not just the food going from my hand to mouth either, ha ha*...even after child number 3 my cycles are still messed up and i still have difficulty with my weight even though i walk 3 miles a day and eat healthy..other than thyroid cancer, i'm healthy (hey i gotta find something positive right?!)..anyway, enough of my rambling...good luck to you!
The depo really affected me getting pregnant it tool 14 months after I got off of it to have a successful pregnancy, one miscarriage in between. I would just say be patient and wait for the depo's effects to wear off.
Hello this is my first time doing this. I went through the same thing long time ago. Has your doctor checked for maybe a cist on your ovaries sometimes that can cause slight problems. I hope everything goes well. Good luck.
Hi L.,
You may not be into this, but here is a fun web site I found from some women who are ttc I met on WebMD, If all checks out well for you at the DR.) http://www.fertilityfriend.com/
It has some helpfull advise and charts you can use to find your best conseption date. Ways to increase your chances, ETC.
It kind of makes the Conception process fun.
Good Luck.

Waiting is so hard, especially when you have gotten pregnant before. Push your doctor, have her run blood tests to see what your hormone levels are. When I was trying my doctor checked the LSH level. That's the one that tells if you are ovulating regularly. It's as easy as a blood draw on the 3rd day of your cycle. Two years is a long time, it's time to look for some answers.
Someone mentioned an acupuncturist, that is a wonderful idea. I had a client who had seven years of infertility an got pregnant in less than a year using acupuncture and diet changes. Eastern medicine tends to look at the whole body working well together instead of isolating areas. My client is in Castle Rock but I'm sure there are quality acupuncturists on the western slope. Good luck!

I am not a physician, but I do know there are over the counter kits that you can buy to test when you ovulate (I don't know how accurate they are), but I do belive they can help test. I also believe that the time a woman is most likely to ovualate is 14 days after the first day she starts her period. i.e. If a woman starts on the 1st, it is my understanding that she is most likely to ovualte on the 14th and a few days following. Once again, I am not a health care professional. Also, maybe your dr. can help you better understand your cycle and what treatments are avaible.

I know how that feels, and it's tough! There are all kinds of possible reasons why you're not getting pregnant, not the least of which is bad luck. Two years is a long time, so if I were you I'd visit your OB and discuss options. I failed to get pregnant after a year of trying, so my OB arranged a HCG for me, which is a complicated X-ray of the uterus and fallopian tubes. They didn't find anything wrong, so my doctor wrote me a prescription for Chlomid. However, I never filled the prescription, because I got pregnant a week after the procedure!
I highly recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It teaches you about your body and how to know when your best days are and how to take care of yourself. You don't need to read the whole book to get the help you need, but it certainly helps a lot if you read more than just a few pages. And also, after you read the method he recommends, buy one of those tests that can tell you when are you close to ovulation. With those two things, you'll soon have another beautiful gift!
