So, frivolous as it might sound and I know others post (as I have in the past) really important questions, I am wondering if anyone has bought a toy combine for their son/daughter and loved it. My son, almost 5, loves his tractors, etc but some are really cheap and I have returned them but now I am on the search for a combine. He has been asking for so long so I know Santa needs listen:) He wants nothing else but a combine for Christmas. Any suggestions for quality farm toys at reasonable prices? Thanks in advance!

So What Happened?

Thanks so much for all the suggestions. I will check out the Bruder website and my local farm store and John Deere store. Let you all know what I find so if anyone else is looking also.

Sarah C>I am sure that is the one he would like :) We have plenty of the louds toys too so I think I will look for a quite one this time..ha ha

do a search on amazon.com for "combine" in the toys section and then narrow that search to toys that got 4 stars or more. i found combines with good reviews ranging from $30-$80. Amazon reviews are ususally very reliable as long as there's at least 2 or 3 reviews left. good luck!

have you tried a john deer dealership? when my son was really into tractors my father found one because he wanted to see if they had some free brochures we could get that my son could look at (we did the same thing with lawn mowers, ordering from the honda website!). when my father went to the dealership he said they had a ton of toys - some cheap and some quite fancy, like for collectors - and ended up buying my son a nice truck with a tractor on a trailer. i would think they have combines, too!

I second a John Deere place. My son plays with my husbands tractors frok when he was a kid. Nice metal tractors...all John Deere. Now this was many years ago...but I would imagine they still value the same quality. We have a combine too! Good luck!

I have no idea who made my son's but a few years back my parents got him a tractor and combine. they were red and black and I believe they are Massey Ferguson tractors, made of metal!

I think it's wonderful that your son loves and has farm toys. I'm concerned that we're raising children who have no idea where our food comes from.

I love that he wants an actual toy and not a video game. Just for that, Santa better come through!

Find a john deere dealer in your area. they usually have toys in a section of the store. They should have a pretty good quality combine. We have one that is all die cast metal. They are pretty exensive if you get that kind but will last forever. They also will have cheaper ones. you can look at www.greenfunstore.com or www. johndeeregifts.com

Get a John Deere from a dealership or check amazon. My husband has his from when he was little and now our 2 sons play with them. We also purchased a few new ones for them as rewards for potty training :) They are quality and made of metal, but a little expensive, but will LAST for a long time. Also check out Bruder ( a german company www.brudertoys.com) that makes quality toys too. We have a backhoe and firetruck from them and are getting a garbage truck for my youngest this christmas. They are made from plastic, but it is the toughest plastic I have seen on toys and my youngest is pretty rough with it.
