I am seeking a professional photographer that would maybe come to my home to photograph my son. Anyone have any recommendations? I am not looking to spend a ton of money, but I want something with good quality.

I know that the pricing is listed on both of the websites you sent me to (thank you by the way, they both look like they are exactly what I am looking for) but I wanted to get an idea of what YOU walked away with and how much you spent... Did you feel like you got a lot of pictures for the price? Sorry about all the questions, I just sometimes feel like I don't really get a lot of pictures for the price I spend at a place like JCpenney. But if they are awesome pictures I am willing to spend the money.

Instead of selling me photos, she charged me one fee (including travel) and gave me a cd with all of the photos. I was able to take it to Cost-co and print anything/everything I wanted. I even made my own baby announcement/christmas card.

I know of a photographer that is based in Naperville who does both children/family portraits as well as weddings. All of her equipment is portable and she prefers to shoot out of clients homes for portrait sessions as she feels it is more relaxing for children as well as MUCH more personal for the portraits. Because she does this on the side and actually has just as much fun as her clients do, she doesn’t charge what large studios charge to come out to your home. She has done a number of families if you would like to see her work. Her website is www.portraitsbytamara.smugmug.com .. She requests a $25 sitting fee up front and will download your pictures on her site where you will be provided with a password where your gallery is protected (if you wish) and you can order prints right off the site. Carrie Coffin works out of her home in Naperville. Here's her website and it shows her WONDERFUL work. See the Newborn, Babies and Kids sections. If you want photos taken indoors, you'd have to go to her house (all the equipment and backdrop setups). If you want them taken outdoors, then she might come to you. Not sure but you'd have to ask.

I have used her for all of my pro photos and it is by far the best deal! She gives you a CD with all your images and you print the photos wherever you want. She also uploads them on Shutterfly for your convenience of ordering. Also, she gives you copyright release form so you own the rights to your photos--no photo studio will do that for you. I upload my photos to mpix.com--pro photogs use this site. The quality is incredible!
