Anyone Know Any Country Songs About Losing Someone?

I believe the song is "Go rest high on that mountain". Vince Gill, Patty Loveless and I think Ricky skaggs all sing it together. Its beautiful!

First...My prayers are with you during this time. You will find much comfort in producing this video memorial. You are doing a great service for your family and friends by keeping his memory alive through your video.

I do photo/video montages and a good portion of my jobs are for memorials. Just from the little bit you have described, my first instinct is to use Amazing Grace by a country singer. This song has been recorded by many singers, especially country singers. The version that stands out in my mind is from LeAnn Rimes.

You already have several good suggestions. But one that I do not see mentioned is "The Walk" by Sawyer Brown.

Another country song I have used recently for a memorial is "You Can Let Go" by Crystal Shawanda, but I am not a big fan of that song.

"who you'd be today" by somebody??? it's about wondering who'd they would be today had they not died. a friend of mine had it played at her cousin's funeral, who died on a motorcycle at a young age.

Keith Anderson has a new song exactly about that. Its pretty good... I think its called, I still miss you.

You have had a lot of great responses, I am not sure what the name of the song is but it is by Reba and it was played in the Lane Frost movie 8 seconds. I still get teary eyed when I hear it. Also the new one by Carrie Underwood I think it is called just a dream.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm not at all a "country fan" but there are some beautiful songs out there: I think Garth Brooks' "the dance" is an incredible song. It's a little more about memories, not so sad. And as a few have already mentioned, "one more day" is pretty (but for this occassion, maybe too sad?).

Use the song "When I get to where I'm going" or something like that by Brad Paisley. It deals with the subject in a really touching way. Or perhaps "The Dance" by Garth Brooks. A friend of mine played "I hope you dance" at her daughter's service and it was lively. I'm sure you'll find the right one to honor your loved one. I hope I helped.

I know you've already made up you mind about the montage so this is just a general comment for the service. When my Dad died I wasn't sure what music to use for the service because he liked country music and I don't listen to it very often so wasn't sure what songs to choose. I got some of his CDs and listened to some songs. It was actually easy to select ones that I thought he liked. We played them at the beginning and a few during and it added a real personal touch for us to his memorial service. People commented that it was nice. Sorry for your loss.

I am not sure if I have the title right, but there's a song with the words, "Look for me" and I've heard it at a couple of funerals. It was sung in the C&W style. It may be in the Christian genre. The message in the song is when you get to heaven, and you've been there "a million years or two,look for me." Wish I could give you more, but that's all I remember. It is a beautiful song.

I'm sure you'll get lots of ideas. There is a southern gospel song that would probably be great too. It's called "Wish you were Here". It is kind of slow and it talks about a loved one walking on the streets of heaven. You can find it on limewire.
