Average Size. Taboo Warning;)

I would like to use Tori H.'s answer almost word for word with one exception. In my experience (from a long, long time ago) it always seemed to me that the ones above average in size seemed to think that because they had size on their side they didn't need to try very hard and were both lazy & selfish lovers.

I am ridiculously lucky to have a man who is likely average in size, but astoundingly above average in time, love, tenderness, fun, imagination & patience in the bedroom.

i think the average is supposed to be 5, but i think its more around 6 based on what i have read and heard. But having had very little lovers(as in very few, but a few little ones too!) in my life i really cant say what the perfect size would be. But i know under 5 is hard to work with and over 8 is a waste!

Well let's just say my husband is a "grower" not a "shower" and so it's caused him some personal anxiety over the years in the locker rooms, but once it's ready, it's juuuust fine!! ;)

I've had really big (and I do mean really big) to really small, and I can't lie, really big is really nice...BUT, being with my husband and knowing each other's bodies the way we do is the best!!

I remember reading the average in America is 5.5 inches. To be completely honest, I have absolutely NO idea how big my husband is. We've never felt inclined to measure. Everything fits and works fine, so it really doesn't matter a bit!! I'm sure there are a lot of endowed men that suck in bed, and a lot of not so endowed men that are great in bed. I truly don't think size matters, in most cases. (I'm assuming anyway.)

Crack me up! I once had one of my husbands friends get very drunk and proceed to tell me exactly how big he is, length, width, general attractiveness. All while I roared with laughter. Now his wife and I are good friends, and I have never told her about that conversation, honestly he was so far gone I don't think that he would remember it. The only person I have had this conversation with is my sister and my best friend, and yes it was usually after a few drinks. From what I gather my hubby is just a smidge over average, but I guess I am basing that on experience. I've been with both sides of the spectrum, but honestly it wasn't the largest that was the best or most different, it was the one that was hooked. Not kidding. I didn't even know they could be that way, but let me tell you a leaner is the way to go. :)

I've never actually measured, but I assume that my boyfriend's is 6-7...

But I have had guys who I would guess are 4, and I have had one guy who told me his was 12 (And it certainly felt like it was 12... OW!).

So there is a range :)

There is a huge range of sizes that are within "normal" for a man. Average is probably smaller than most of us would guess. And a lot of studies rely on "self-reported" measurements - hehe... Then there is the question of how do you really measure - from where to where? And there is length and then there is circumference...

My girlfriends have had this conversation, after some wine, and the range reported was quite amazing! My experience includes small, medium, and large, but I've only been told about x-large :-)

Another thing most people don't think about is that women come in those different sizes, also. Good thing. So a good fit is much more desirable in a partner than bigger.

I have a book called "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Supercharged Kama Sutra Illustrated" (bad title for a very good book) that describes techniques to deal with the differences if there isn't such a good fit.

Thanks so much for the laugh. I have to side with length is not important at all. The question is much more accurately is can he get you "there?" Sadly I have come to find there are plenty of women who go years without. THANK GOD my husband knew what he was doing. :)

In your shoes, I wouldn't have told if I had known. I just feel that's pretty personal and people we see do not need that much info!

Oh my great question LOL. My husband has grown quite a belly over the years which I swear makes it smaller (Dr. Oz once explained why - the belly fat basically hides the base). So anyway, he was probably average to start with and we were a good fit, but after birthing 5 kids things just aren't the same there for me so while bigger would be nice right now, it ain't gonna happen.

I had one partner who was noticeably bigger than the rest and it was quite a good time. As for an exact number, I think that around 5 inches erect is considered average.

I have had my fair share of experience and size is not all it is cracked up to be ... what is important is size compatability, what fits YOU comfortably and that is what most of both genders do not discuss, that may be what you want to focus on.

I did look this up once for my hubby's sake because he was convinced he was so much smaller then normal. well he is smaller when he is ummm "limp" but is bigger than average when fully erect.

Well I had no idea there was an average size until I got married! My hubby actually informed me what the avg was, which I honestly cannot remember at this time...I am tired... What I would have said in that situation though was something like well he is packing plenty to keep me very happy this past five years, so no complaints here!! If they pressed I just would have giggled and said I refused to stir jealousy or something like that. You know just let it be known he is not lacking but I definitely would not have shared details either! You did the right thing protecting your man's package info :D

I bet that was a awkward yet kind of amusing conversation!Anyway I have read many different articles (heakth books,online,etc...) stating the average size is 4-6 inches while erect but I am not sure I believe that.I guess in the end all that matters is not size but love =)

Size doesn't really matter to me, I have had "Big" and I have had "small" I have never experienced a man who was not able to wow me in bed. My SO and I have been together for 11 ish years now ( hard to believe ) and I could not tell you how big it is...just that it makes me happy...I would guess he is average...Now on the other hand, my sister is married to an "over-sized" endowed man, we teasingly call him Ron Jeremy...but even she says it makes things complicated...so maybe there is such a thing as too big!

My friends and I all know how big each others mates are. We talk about it. It's girl talk and it's just silly fun! How come it's not OK for girls to have "locker room talk" but men can? I've been with more than my share of guys and average is about 6 inches. I've read that's average also. I was with one or two who were much larger and with one who was much smaller. I married average and that's my favorite :)

This cracks me up because how many people have to be measured before you get an accurate average and who is standing in line for the measuring?

I don't think it particularly matters and since I have never measured my hubby's I don't even think I could give a real accurate guess.

I do feel for the guys in adult films who look pretty huge but don't have a lot else to say for themselves. Funny stuff

I know most of us are curious about this at one point in time and I agree with the others that size is not the most important part...what's important is how you 'fit' together!

I have always heard it was between 5 and 6 inches. I'll even tell ya that my man is way above average!!

If I remember from high school health all those years ago, it's between 5 and 6 inches. If any of the women said bigger than 6 1/2 they were being uber generous I'm sure. (Or guessing)

Average hard is about 5-5.5 inches. Flaccid is 2-3 inches.

I've had average and I've had way above average... I definitely prefer the way above average.

People that you see on a regular basis DO NOT NEED TO KNOW! The average size is 5 inches and that is pretty accurate. Men are hilarious about things, though. They want to think they are all grand. It is all about how a woman and a man work together not about much else. I saw a show once where a man wore tight pants and used a piece of rubber to put a sausage on his leg and ended up dying because it ended up the rubber was like a tourniquet. Fun to look at but not good for much else!!

You made a good analogy with comparing it to bra size. So what does average even mean, really? If you have a satisfying sex life, does it matter? Let's face it, some are small, some are big, and some are "average"!

Everyone's different. If you line up four guys and have them hold their arms next to each other the girth, length, color, texture and amount of hair on each man's arm would be completely unique.

I've seen a few trouser snakes in my life (very few) and each one was as different as the face on their skull for whom the snake belonged.

If you've ever disrobed to complete nakedness in a ladies locker room, you'll be hard pressed to find two sets of breasts that look similar in either size or shape.

What is the average woman's boob size? Hardly matters as it varies greatly from lady to lady. Someone once sent me this image for a laugh but I was reminded of it when I saw this post.
