Good morning all! I just found out that my husband and I are expecting baby #3. this will most likely be our last baby. I was trying to think of a creative way to tell him? Any suggestions? We do have 2 little boys already. Have a great day!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

thank you all for your responses. I did take a picture of all our feet together & had the boys paint a card. I wrote the saying "our family is about to grow 2 feet". took my husband a minute or so to catch on, but when he did the look on his face was priceless!. thanks again for all your sggestions! Now on to the rest of the family...in a few weeks...we want to savor this time!

How about getting the youngest son a shirt that says "I'm the big brother" and just see how long it takes him to notice the message and make the connection??

Someone suggested to me when I posted a similar question....and I LOVED the idea. Get your boys and you to sit with your feet in a row. Take a photo of your feet and draw your husbands in....then put a saying "our family is going to grow by two feet!" Let him open that at dinner with the whole family. It is a family present, right? I thought it was creative and unique and something different than the shirts.

Good Luck and CONGRATS!

maybe you could make them little shirts for when he comes home from work. The youngest could say something like "I'm a big brother!" and the older's could say "i'm the biggest brother!" or something like that. You could make them easily with puffy paint and blank shirts from hobby lobby or joann's.

What about leaving a neutral color onsie on his pillow that says "I'm here" or something. I also like the shirts... we did it for our oldest!

Congratulations! Just a thought on the rest of the family... I recently saw a Hallmark card that started "I have something to let you know. By now my mommy has started to show. I recently performed for her a new trick. It was to change her sleep habits and make her sick." It went on from there, but the rest seemed to be more aimed at marketing their whole line of cards ;) You could, of course, change "By now...has started" to "Soon... will start" or any other changes that suit your situation. It's too late for us, but I would have loved to use some language like this in an e-mail message to extended family and friends when we announced our pregnancy...

See if there is a store (like Gordon's Food Service) around your house and get a couple of those domed lids to put over a plate then make your husband's favorite dinner; and set it under a domed lid; under one of the domed lids, if you have it, place the vaginal ultrasound photo and have him open that first. Mazel Tov and good luck!

I'm just going to say that is cute that you are thinking of a creative way to tell him. I think my husband found out the same way with each of ours--I couldn't wipe the idiotic grin off of my face all day after seeing a positive test that morning and I'm terrible at controlling my expressions. This time though he didn't believe me because the line was "too faint," so I had to take another and another until we had a dark enough one. Maybe next week we'll actually have a due date. Congratulations!

put a " Big Brother" shirt on your youngest and see how long it takes him to notice.
That's what we did when we got pregnant with our second.
We went to a big family gathering and My daughter was wearing a " Big sister" shirt it took until dinner was almost over for someone to ask about it. It was quite funny.
