Best Santa Photos in the Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley Area

I want to get santa photos done with my son, but have no info to choose between The Grove in LA, any of the Westfields mall santas, Burbank mall or JCPenney Photo Studio in Glendale. I'm used to comparison shopping and finding info on the web, but it feels like they've all intentionally NOT put any info on the website so that you'd have to drive to the actual mall, (with a baby) at the height of the xmas season just to see if you MIGHT like their santa photos. I saw a friend's photos from JCP that had virtual backgrounds and stuff, but I don't know what the Westfield and Grove santa offerings are. The Burbank mall has a bunch of packages that offer you flash drives and coupons for free pics at Snapfish. What has anybody else seen out there?

Thanks!

So What Happened?

The Santa house and the chair at the Grove were great. It's definitely primo. The Santa looks authentic, but he's not smiley AT ALL. Didn't love it. Didn't catch on until the 10th Facebook person commented on it and then also saw a different friend's pictures a week later. Still no smile. Very dour. I like the Westfield Sherman Oaks Santa best this year - my friend's pics look great.

Hi P.,

We love The Grove. We just went on Sunday. I would say call ahead & ask about their policy. They JUST changed it a couple days ago & gave out tickets to see Santa. We got there Sunday evening about 6:20 (late, I know). There was no one in line & they were telling us if we didn't have a ticket, come back around 7pm & it will be first come, first serve. I guess they decided to give out tickets earlier in the day so that people wouldn't be waiting in line for 2 hours. I didn't know that ahead of time so I was worried we wouldn't get in but it ended up working out perfectly!

We had a quick dinner at The Farm right next to the fountains, got "snowed" on during dinner, watched a little show on the stage & then went to get in a very short line at 7:15. We were in & out by 7:45pm in time to grab a coffee & see the second "snow". If you want to see the pictures, send me your email. We're very happy & it was just beautiful there.

I agree they should put everything online - would make planning easier! I know the packages are $15 up to $40 for pictures, $20 for the zip drive and the DVD is $30. We just paid the $15 for one 5x7 & scanned it. We also paid the $30 for the DVD. I wasn't sure about that but when we got home we watched the one from a couple years ago & the new one... It was darling to see the kids 2 years later. We missed The Grove last year - I don't think we'll miss it again!

Oh dear. Even Santa can have a bad day.
Or one of the elves may have sore arches.
Even if a place has a great "review",
that may have been that day with that Santa.
Pick a store you trust and go for it!
Good luck!
S.

Hands down, my favorite place for Santa photos is the Grove in LA. The Brea Mall has a good one, too, but that is probably too far for you. We travel to the Grove every year, stand in line, and get the best pics! We live in Arcadia, adn the Westfield Santa Situation here is not as good. For me, it's worth the drive and the wait at the Grove. Take another adult with you to help with shopping/standing in line, etc. if you can. It's worth it!
Good Luck!
