Best Self Tanners?

I was going to get a spray tan today, but I am pregnant and my doctor said she doesn't know one way or the other whether spray tans are totally safe for pregnant women. She said to try a self-tanning cream instead. Can anyone recommend a really good one, that doesn't look orange or streaky? Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks for the input, everybody! I ended up buying the Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer (medium shde), and it really works. I just wish I would have started applying it a few days earlier, because it really is very gradual. I also got some uneven dark spots on my feet and one elbow, but I guess that's because I did not apply it evenly enough. I do recommend Jergens, though.

I love the Jergens tanning lotion. You apply it every day as you would your regular lotion and after several days you develop a "tan." I've used self-tanners in the past and I love the lotion because it slowly develops over time and you don't have to worry about missing any area of your body.

"Tan Towels" are packages of moist-towelettes that have self-tanner already on them. The best, most natural-looking tanning product I've used yet. I alternate them with the Jergen's Natural Glow when I'm just maintaining. Hope this helps!

Hi there-

Congrats on the baby! I second the Jergens and the non-tanning booth products. Jergens is slow, consistent and non-streaking. Good luck!

i would buy a self tanner with a green base. If you have access to a professional beauty supply store-through a friend or family member, that would be your ultimate choice. Two brands you can try :Fake Bake or go to sunlabsonline.com for another company. Both of these brands have a green base to prevent the orange look. I used the Mystic Tan and got airbrushed during my pregnancy. Both of which are available at most tanning salons.

I went to the tanning salon throughout both of my pregnancies. My doctor ( out of Edwards Hospital) said tanning would not hurt the baby.

I've been using Dove Energy Glow. I love it! I would be very hesitant to even think about going to a tanning salon while being pregnant. Just my opinion. Anyways, here's a link to the products I've been using. Try it! Everyone feels better with a little color. (Just remember to wash your hands right after applying the lotion; otherwise, your hands will turn orange-ish in the creases and between your fingers.)

I used to use Neutrogena until I tried Arbonne's Sunless Tanner. This product is amazing, and since it's botanically based, you don't have to worry about damaging chemicals getting into your system through your skin! It works with no tint, but rather by adjusting the pigmentation of your skin. It contains no mineral oil and has anti-aging elements in it. Plus it has SPF 15, so it will help guard against sunburn when you are out! It also has a moisturizer so it will help moisturize your skin, unlike other tanners that will actually dry out your skin! AWESOME right! Check it out at www.kristenstemple.myarbonne.com. Click on the shop online tab to browse our catalog. This product is listed under the Anti-Aging section and is in the Before Sun product line. You can't go wrong with this...
Good Luck no matter what you choose and congratulations on your pregnancy...your life will never be as happy as this!
