I think I am embracing it as well? I had never colored my hair (all but one awful highlighting episode at the salon about 12 years ago)...then about 3-4 years ago, I did acolor-in-a-box at home deal...daughter and I did for fun to add sort of a purply/red color to our hair for a fun event...knowing it would wash out/fade in a month or so.
After than I thought..hey I can cover this grey/white stuff at my temples with a box kit. So I have a few times a year since then, but the colors have always sort of stained my scalp for a few days each time. I have a very sensitive scalp, keep my hair about chin length (front..shorter in back)..and hate the upkeep really....
So I think I am just embracing my color change as well. I am about to turn 42....and am a brunette...so let the racing stripes happen!
EDIT TO ADD: I also sort of have a new pet peeve the last number of years....you never know what a person, especially women "really" look like anymore. Eye color, hair color, etc. People get enhancements and boob jobs and colored contacts and a new haircolor every 2 months. I am not the most in shape person (I have my own personal 20 pound roller coaster and flabby arms, etc)....but really have become very low maintenance in the last few years. I am no "earth momma "type......and don't get me wrong...I do not mean to dis on anyone who does these things, not really. It just does drive me a bit nuts that I can never see a person with lovely eyes and think WOW...because in the same moment I think...they must be colored contacts....OK..SORRY for the sideways hi-jack!
