The IUD is in the uterus so he won't feel it. As far as the little cord, he's not as sensitive as he'd like to think, lol.

I am in the very same boat.My Doctor put me on yaz pills.I have never had the mirena but I know people that have and they said their husband could not tell it was there.

Hi T.. I have the implanon in my arm and i love it. It works for 3yrs and you dont have to worry about it falling out. Its a 10-15 minute procedure that they do in the office and it does give you lighter periods. My shortest one is about 2 days and my longest is 7-8 days. I have been told that the mirena falls out too easy. I have a close friend who used it and said it fell out while in the shower. She only had it in for about 3 wks. Hope it helps

Good Morning T., I am not familiar with the products you mentioned. I used BC-Pills to regulate my periods also before and after our son's were born. I also used the diaphram for a while, hubby didn't seem to notice at all.

Hi There I have the mirena and have had it almost three years i love it and my partner can't tell that i have it, its a small wire string that there and you can't even tell its there. Also i like it cause i have a period about every two months and it really light for only a few days. i truly recommend it.

I had a Mirena 5 years and it worked well with my periods. My husband felt it a little when I first got it, probably because he knew I had something in it. The Mirena didn't cause problems during intercourse, after a while he forgot I had it in. Never heard of Implanon. Good Luck :-)

I was having similar problems and had an endometrial ablation. It's a minor surgical procedure and in most cases will eliminate your period. I still have a period, but it is very light. On the downside, I now have a day or two of cramping that I never had before, which can be a side effect. I should also mention that my doctor wanted to get me off birthcontrol because of a history of breast cancer in my family.

Hi I've had the Mirena for 3 months now and my husband did feel the strings for like the first week it was in he said it was like a little poke. The strings soften and now he doesn't feel it at all.

I have the ParaGuard IUD which is basically the same thing as the Mirena ( minus the hormones). My husband and I have no problems with feeling it during intercourse and if penetration is deep enough your husband may feel it but it is like two pieces of fishing line so it doesn't hurt. I don't know about the 2 BC's you have mentioned. I've never used them. But I am on Luestrin 24. It works wonderfully. I have a period for 4 days. And even then my periods aren't as bad as what I used to have. I don't have cramps hardly either. I used to have to take 4 ibuprofen and then use one of those heating pads from ThermaCare to help. I don't do either of them now. I don't know if you would want to have to take a pill everyday. I hope this helps a little bit.

I have had the Mirena for almost one year now. I no longer have a period and it has been wonderful. My boyfriend says he can feel it during intercourse, but it's not painful. Also, the doctor tells you to make sure once a month that it is still in there. It is hard to reach to feel it and him feeling it is the only way I know it is in there. So, it works for me!

Hi T., I use Loestrin 24 and I'm having really good luck with it. I really don't even have a period - lasts no more than a day. My sister also is using it (just started), she has heavy, painful periods. My doctor and his head nurse said that the Loestrin 24 is like their favorite pill. Good luck!

my husband could TOTALLY feel the mirena and it sucked... just my experience though. might depend on him... i had to get it taken out, because it hurt me during sex as well. i could feel it when we had sex, FYI.

I am not familiar with Implanon at all, but I did have the Mirena device on two seperate occasions. I had no period at all with that method of BC, and I think most women don't. I am not sure it would help you regulate your periods because of that fact. My doctor mentioned if my husband could feel the string during intercourse that he could shorten it. It is easier to remove if they leave it a bit longer. He never did notice it ever and so we had no issues there either. The actual device is way up in your uterus, so the only thing that is down in your hubby's neck of the woods is the little thin string they use to remove it. I would't expect your hubby to notice either! :)

I have been on Mirena for over a year now. My boyfriend cannot feel it at all. Neither one of us can. If it's implanted properly that should never be an issue.

I would strongly sway against IMPLANON. I liked it at first. I was on depo shot and due to problems depo can have long term, my doctor suggest I get off of it for a while. I went with the IMPLANON. Everything was great...at first. Still continued to not have a period for about a year. Then I had sparatic periods...then OMG...they started to last longer and longer. 2 weeks was about the norm. I was contiplating on having it removed... then when I was bleeding for 3 weeks... I HAD ENOUGH!! I think I would deal with the irreguality. I would really research your options. If you can deal with not knowing when to expect your next period...I wouldn't do either. I don't know much on Mirena. But my heavens...I wish I did my research MORE before I went with IMPLANON. Really do A LOT of research!

I had the mirena inserted in early June and I love it. I can't feel it and neither can my husband. I had a small period in July and not much this month. My doc said they would most likely go away and that seems to be happening. I have had a little bit of cramping occasionally, but as time goes by that is less and less. I am very glad I did it and wish I would have done it sooner.

Mirena is such a touchy subject among women! I had a great experience, but I know that others haven't. I basically had no period while on Mirena. I recently took it out to start to try to have another baby and I forgot how bad periods can be! I know that there are many other who have had bad experiences. Do your research and look at the statistics for side effects. Sorry, I know that isn't much help, but since it is such a heated debate, it might be helpful.

I don't know much about implanon. I had mirena, and it was a bad experience, but from what I understand (it was too painful for us to have sex with, but that's another story), they rarely feel it during sex and if they do, your doctor can cut the strings shorter (and worst comes to worst, take it out). Have you thought about seeing someone who specializes in hormones so you could use something specifically for this purpose, since you don't need birth control anyway? I just am so awful on hormonal birth control, I wouldn't take it if I could help it. You might not be that way, but there might be something a little less invasive that could help. Were your periods always crazy or is it new? Sometimes your hormones just need a jump start to start working right after kids... or are you getting to that age when they get crazy (I'm not sure how old you or your kids are)? After my second child I had all sorts of problems (no periods for a long time, depression, headaches, etc.) and finally my doc tested my hormones and I had almost no testosoerone and esterol, also thyroid. I felt better so quickly after I started taking them, and he said I'd probably need to be on them for only like 3 months to get my body producing naturally again (instead I got pg after about a month and my body surely kicked in). Anyway, something to think about. I had a very bad experience with Mirena, as I said (it punctured my uterus and I had to have surgery to have it removed), but one nice thing about it is it is generally easy to have removed if you don't like it. Like someone else said, I have heard WONDERFUL things about the ring from both people who use it and doctor friends.

Hi T., I have the Mirena and don't like it at all. It has not stopped my periods infact they start every two weeks now and last alot longer. It has also stopped my drive. I have had it for a year and a half to give it a chance but will have it removed soon. Good luck.
