Birth Control Pills "Mini-pill"

Does anyone have experience taking the Nora-Be 0.35 MG birth control pill? I was taking Microgestin Fe 1/20 but I was getting really bad Migrain headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain and lower back pain on my right side once a month. So the doctor changed my perscription to remove the estrogen. Note: She said those are signs that something is not right. Could have caused blood clots.
Something different, there is no break between packs and no reminder tablets. So when do you know your period schedule? What do you think of this pill?

What can I do next?

I have been on the mini-pill for almost 4 years (it's a generic brand). I started it when I was nursing, so I wasn't prescribed the estrogen brand. I feel the estrogen made me crazy, anyways, with PMDD. The mini pill has worked great for me. I rarely get me periods (my last one was in November) - while that can be disconcerting, I have had no other side effects. There are no breaks with the mini pill, which was hard to get used to, and if you don't take them at the EXACT time every night, they aren't as effective. I've considered an IUD, but since this is working and I don't suffer through severe PMS, I think I'll stick with it.

I didn't like it. I feel it made me severely depressed. I don't even like the regular pill, but now I know I like it a heck of a lot better than Nora Be. I did get periods toward the end of taking it. They were on the last week of the pill.

In all fairness, I have been on Nora-BE for 7 months, it is horrid! periods are abnormal, I get depressed for no reason, I have gained 25 pounds and cant get it to go away no matter what kind of changes I make. Awful mood swings like a mental case, serious physically painful cramps, to the point i cant interact with my fiance and kids. It also has given me very bad acne, rashes, developed food allergies, crazy upset stomach issues 2 weeks lasting prior to my period. I never suggest this product.

Hi T., I took the Nora-Be when I was nursing my son. It worked ok and I never had my period due to the nursing as well. However my Dr. told me that as soon as I stopped nursing, I should move to another pill as it would not be as effective anymore. While taking Nora-B my sex drive was reduced to almost zero and I would also not lubicate very much which made intercourse not really enjoyable. Once I moved to another pill it did not get much better, so I stopped taking the pill completly and my desire has returned. Good luck. C.

I am a nursing mom and have been taking the generic form of the mini pill for the past year so have not had a period but haven't noticed any negative side effects. My OB said that when I'm done nursing, I should switch because spotting is common. I have decreased how often I nurse and have noticed something that I think is spotting (vs. a light period). I believe the instructions have info on periods/scheduling? Maybe the website? Good luck.
